Loud Typer 4+

Without wanting to divulge my life story, as a child I used to type on typewriters a lot so I find the sound theraputic. Pretty sure my parents would have disagreed with that but now I'm an old man, when you have it as an app on a computer where you can control the volume it becomes less of an annoyance for those around you, especially when you can press Control-Command-L to toggle the sound off globally.

Personally I find the sound helps me focus when I have a lot of text I need to get down and other than on password boxes it seems to track all your inputs really well, so I'd call it a productivity tool. For me the default sounds are fine but I might consider paying for changing them at some point.

Works perfectly on my 2015 MacBook Pro Retina 15" running macOS Catalina and my 2020 M1 MacBook Air running macOS Monterey, as of the time of writing.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm using the typewriter sound, which is free. I've used other typwriter apps but they don't offer full word-processing options which reduces productivity. This app lets you use your favourite writing app with typewriter sounds which somehow makes me feel like I'm being more productive. Would be nice to have the bell when you get a carraige return when the word processing software adds one but I guess that's a bit of a coding headache and it does do it when you manullay add a 'line feed'.

This is an extraordinary app that does everything it says it does - don't get fooled by all the silly reviews.

I installed this as a writer because I wanted to get a retro feeling when I was typing. Now it sounds like I'm working on a typewriter. The fact that different keys have different sounds is a very nice touch.

All in all I don't have anything negative to say about the app. Accomplishes everything it says it does and runs very smoothly.
