Best app for progressive overload and customised workouts!

Pro: fantastic for progressive overload (once you figure out the right settings) rest timer, automatic progression (when it works) and setting weight relative to 1RM are a godsend. Apple watch app is also very solid. You do need to dedicate some time to personalising your settings (machine weight increments, automatic progression increments, default warm up weights) but once done, the app is perfect.

Cons: Should have templates for progressive overload, as it's time consuming to figure out and takes a while to set up for all your exercises. The app also needs to make clear the differences between adding exercises to the master plan, and adding them only for that day's plan. At first got very confused when I would add exercises only for them to immediately disappear from my plan.

Thank you for the review and feedback!

You can change the weight increments to 0.25, its done per equipment and you can find it in Settings > Equipment.

2, 3 and 4 I will put on my list of features to explore. Really good ideas! If anything else comes to mind let me know at feedback@liftinapp.co.

Best overall

This is my second review of this app ive been using it for years now, at first it was complicated.
Now I couldn’t go to the gym without it. Even though its a one time life payment. The development keeps coming with no extra hidden payments, recently Advanced training systems have been added ie drop sets.
I have definitely had my moneys worth i hope more ATS become available or tracking reps to fail, tracking eccentric only or single side isolation, TUT count down, GVT…. I know i can do most of this with the notes or in my head just thought id put it out there.
Thank you very much i have learned alot about my self from this app

Thank you for the review!

I’m glad to hear that you like the app! I will definetly look into the features you are suggesting, thanks for sharing! there is already a setting to track reps to failure (AMRAP), you find the setting under the “More settings…” button when setting up weight/reps on the iPhone.

Let me know if you don’t find it or if any other feedback comes to mind, feedback@liftinapp.co. 🙂

Love this app!

Was using Strong despite that app never getting new updates and features being outdated. Didn’t switch because I was just used to using it.. but after being tired of active calories and sometimes other data not logging properly after a workout from my Apple Watch decided to switch. So happy I did, this app’s features and updates far surpass that of strong. I love the UI, the easily set up of progressive overload and the widget / live widget. Works flawlessly with my Apple Watch series 9 too. Great app, highly recommend over the alternatives.
