Description
Learn music theory, practice note recognition, play simple melodies, and collect stickers!
Improve your music skills! No instrument is required!
Learn notes and sight-reading with flashcards! Answer using buttons with note names, a virtual piano, or sound.
The Nutka app works with your voice or real instruments like piano, guitar, violin, etc.
Great educational app for beginners learning the instrument or kids studying music:
- easy theory lessons
- colors help to associate sounds with notes' names
- every correct answer is rewarded with a smiling kitten
- session summary lets you control the progress
- hints mode and swiping to see the correct answers are beneficial for discouraged people
- listening to the piano sound during sight-reading practice builds perfect ear skills.
Nutka, the sight-reading tutor, will help you learn music notes in just a few days! Start with the Lessons and learn the basics of music theory.
Then, go to the Practice and learn by repetition at a different difficulty level. Start with the line and space notes, and when you are ready, expand your learning.
Learn to play simple melodies like "Happy Birthday" or "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."
Set your daily goal and use the app's timer to stay on track.
Collect Stickers for every session with at least a few good answers.
If you don't recognize the note, don't worry. Just swipe the screen to see the music flashcard with the correct note name.
Adjust the settings when playing a live instrument or singing:
The microphone's sensitivity to filter out background sounds and noises.
Note transposition when playing the guitar or singing. Guitars are transposed instruments, and their notes are noted an octave higher than they sound.

Ratings and Reviews
This is OK.
I have learnt lots from this app and have made progress over the last few weeks of using this. I do sometimes get fed up because of all these constant adds when you are trying to concentrate on learning your required notes. But, overall, this is a good app to help you and your kids learn their notes correctly.
Yours sincerely,
Samantha

Thank you very much for the kind words! Good luck with your music learning!
Cannot see all notes
Cannot see all options. Eg 5 lines. F box is off screen. Have to scroll to view. And can’t change to landscape.
Also straight into playing after downloading app. Should be option for young musicians to learn the notes first.
Developer Response ,
Hi. Sorry for the issue you are facing. Would you please send us a screenshot at boramaapps@gmail.com? You must watch the short video first to change the view to the landscape.
This app works similarly to paper music flash cards. You see a note, and you guess the name of it. If you are a beginner, start with learning note names - go to the settings and select Level 1 and Input method: buttons. The first hint is the color of the buttons - it's the same as the color of the note. The second hint would be the cat - if the music note you played was wrong, the pet would be sad. And the third hint - swipe the screen vertically to see the flashcard with the note name and position. Don't get discouraged - guessing is the method of learning!
