Amazing app
This is a game changer. None of the other apps can you teach a language as good as this. It’s got a few kinks it needs to workout but the team on this app responded immediately, like within a minute, when I mentioned some issues. I tried some other AI language apps, but none are as good as this. This one has different topics set up already to start a chat, even the AI voices have the voices nailed, it doesn’t sound robotic. I highly recommend this app.
Great for Speaking, Bad for Quizzes
As someone who needs a lot of practice just speaking and reacting in Japanese, this has been a great tool at 1/100th of the cost for a tutor in the same space.
Having said that, almost all the features I’ve used outside the chats have been fairly shallow and I wouldn’t recommend it if speaking isn’t your primary goal. I asked for a quiz focused on JLPT5 material and it gave me the same question three times, which was particularly disappointing as the questions themselves were crazy basic and won’t be much good for the exam (“What does 人 mean?”).
But I still bought a year because there’s no better speaking alternative out there, so you’ll definitely get your money’s worth if you have the focus.
I like the app but so far very buggy
I recently have come across the issue of when I use the microphone to answer the questions in the chat it just fills in this phrase “thanks to all the students and people who helped me write this video” in Swedish.
I have no clue why that’s happening as I’m saying very different sentences each time and it writes that almost every single time. It also keeps asking me to use the work for book in a sentence over and over again and I have to ask it to switch topics. I really like this app otherwise though so hope it gets fixed soon, especially the speech to text issue😅
