Description

KingB is designed to capture the unique tones of the B and C series tonewheel organs. It uses a fresh modeling approach to generate tonewheel signals in real time, as well as to replicate the complex interplay of components that make the organ “sing”. Absolutely no samples are used.

The interplay within the intricate network of tonewheels, components, wiring harnesses, and motor elements is synthesized to a convenient set of parameters. By using them, you are able to change the quirks of the underlying organ model. This helps parallel the variances heard among individual examples of the physical instrument, and even allows replicating the effects of aging or out-of-spec electronics.

The new rotary speaker emulations are a deep dive into the 3D aural candy that makes tonewheel organs truly shine. Six unique cabinet models are complemented by four amps that provide extra warmth via our “Virtual Tube” technology. An additional guitar amp bus (with three models to choose from) runs parallel to the rotary for even more sound options.

A set of carefully selected pre- and post-amplification effects are integrated for good measure (and may all the measures you play be good!) Three manuals, each with its own drawbar set, as well as over 130 organ and FX parameters are MIDI controllable. You can save and share MIDI maps, sound presets, and in-app audio recordings. Factory presets include over 110 sounds varying from laid back Jazz ditties to gnarly, Purple-colored distortion extravaganzas.

KingB is ready to join your workflow as an AUv3. Both the app and the plugin are universal, and also support Apple Silicon Chip computers.

What’s New

Version 1.1

• Enables assigning MIDI CC 64 (MIDI Sustain) to parameters.
• TIP: Manuals can be set to ignore MIDI Sustain messages by unselecting the buttons found in Settings -> MIDI panel. This is best practice if MIDI Sustain is used to control parameters, for example Rotary Slow/Fast.
• Improvements to plugin robustness on desktop computers.
• Other optimizations and improvements.

Outstanding…

So I’m a professional playing for over 40 years. I have in my studio an A100 from 1964 and a C3 from the 70s both 147 & 122 Leslie. This is astoundingly close to the real thing. The only issue that bugs me is that the swell pedal doesn't goto silence which makes it very difficult to layer in a setup - both my vintage Hammonds do goto silence (except for the mechanical noise and floor noise associated with with them). Hopefully this will be corrected as this is only the first release. The other Hammond plugins available that compare are MUCH more expensive and actually this has the best Leslie simulator. My only other wish would a simple midi split point between registers with an Octave switch similar to IK media as plugins often get used on a single manual keyboard. But at the end of the day for this price I cannot complain. BTW did you ever try to take a real Hammond & Leslie to a gig? Don't! Unless you have a road crew - use this instead!
Edit - unfortunately at the moment the midi is a buggy nightmare for midi cc drawbars respond in reverse and all kinds of midi mayhem when running as an AUv3 in a host :-(

A great classic organ/FX combo, builds on earlier Yonacs.

Having already obtained ‘Galileo’ etc, I knew what to expect, except this is a different technology it seems, directly synthesising the waveforms. The built-in FX is really what I was waiting for, not many Audio Units do this. I have only hammered my way through a few of the presets, the extra available purchases I mean, they worked out at 5 pence per sound-setting apiece - all the expected standards are there. I will get to it properly with my MIDI controller/Novation 61 keyboard, but in the meantime there’s only one small feedback - please can the ‘wah-wah’ pedal movement on my iPad Pro M1 standalone be made to go the full range of wah-pedal movement, in just one finger-slide? IE you presently need to slide from fully down to fully up on the pedal image, twice, which in practical playing terms is not much use to me? Or be able to adjust how ‘coarse’ or ‘fine’ this ‘action’ is. Just feedback. I have no complaints. Great instrument/FX combo.
