Keyplan 3D Lite - Home design 4+

I wanted an app to create floor plans on (because I enjoy it). The free version lets you create one room so you can get a feel for the app.

I then paid for the full upgrade to create more rooms, (£5.99) I didn’t realise that you still have to pay extra for (better) objects each time. They are between £2-£3 a pack. I paid for garage pack. You can also have kitchen, bathroom, bedroom etc.

Top Pros:
You can save your designs
You can edit the size and colour of objects
Good range of objects (if you pay)
Very easy to use app
It still works okay with big plans. Started to lag with my 18 room mansion when I had both floors on the same platform (so 40+ room).

Top Cons:
You can’t go above one floor, I wouldn’t mind this so much if I could set the stairs to go in to the floor to show they go down at least.
These app kill your battery like nothing else I have used.
Limited for landscape design.
Can’t change wall height.
Kitchens ends need to be again a wall or you can see the feet.

Top Tips:
Those who can’t create patios outside for example, create a room and then ‘hide’ the walls to change the floors in outside spaces.
To over come wall height, used a serving hatch and make it bigger of reshape a cub to use as a wall. I have used cubes to hide the end of kitchens or create islands.

Up shot - I can’t stop playing this app and this is 100 time better that drawing house plans, which o used to do.

When I made a house, it only had one door because the app thinks that having more than 1 door means that I have more than 1 room. Well that left me with a open bathroom and kitchen. It’s annoying that Keyplan only allows me to create 1 room, but technically a house needs more than 1 room right? Plus, I’m not allowed to use the demos either and that doesn’t make any sense because the demos are supposed to give out a helpful example.

But on the bright side, it is REALLY EASY to use and the controls simplicity actually makes sense because firstly, build the walls, next, add the door and furniture, and bam! You’re done! It totally changed my view on home design. Keyplan has made home design easy as heck bruh!

Good app and easy to use after playing with it for an hour had worked out most of the functions , Demo plans are good to play with to see what’s possible . Would be even better if could do multiple levels on same plan . Also more support for stairs, arrival at next level, simple shapes to make own and some more standard types ie. quarter turn bottom or top. In app purchases can be annoying but it works out about £15 to buy full version and extra packs , so a reasonable price for a good program as long as it continues to be supported buy developer. Not every thing can be free. Having problems exporting and importing other peoples designs . And a photo option to capture 3D model would be good , currently taking screen shot and editing.
