Description
iOverlander is a database of places for overlanders and travelers. It includes camping, hotels, restaurants, mechanics, water, propane filling and many other categories. Details are listed for each place, including amenities, photos, date last visited and GPS coordinates.
In addition to finding places, you can add new places, leave reviews, save favorites, and share places with other travelers. All of these features will work offline. Subscribe to iOverlander Pro or Unlimited to download maps, to be able to view points on maps even when you are out of cell range.
iOverlander is an app built for Overlanders, by Overlanders. It has been tested worldwide, across hundreds of thousands of miles.

Trying to sell data back to the providers! It won’t work
Have to agree with others here: developers: this won’t work. As others have said, the data you trying to sell to the users was created by the users! Collecting it and flogging it back to them is just wrong. The app has been shabby for as long as I can remember, so give it up a facelift (not working here on my ipad, seems iPhone only sadly), let it develop into a decent app for a bit, and then invite donations to support the community-driven app, or make a charge for something extra THAT ISN’T THE DATA THEY’VE PROVIDED IN THE FIRST PLACE! No-one gave it to you to sell; they gave it to help other travellers, so please: what you’re trying to do won’t work and is offensive to contributors. If you rethink and do something reasonable, these reviews can be deleted.
Developer Response ,
Yes, adding points is a big part of our app, and we are grateful for the contributions and made sure that our top contributors all have free upgrades! But the time and costs related to maintaining and developing our app and website, not to mention moderating and cleaning our database, greatly exceeds the time and effort to add checkins and places. We had no choice but to offer a paid subscription in order to sustain our app and keep the infrastructure running.
Really?
Considering the entire database and all of the info on overlander is community added and generated, and the only service you’re effectively providing is the maps - which are open source so it’s not like you are paying for them anyway, I find it a really unethical and a spit in the face of all the users that have contributed to the database that you’re now trying to charge £100 a year for that. Yet another great project getting ruined by greed.
A small charge to generate some profit for you and cover the costs - sure. A £100? Distastefully greedy.

Hi, thanks for your feedback. We wish we could remain completely free forever, but after 10 years of attempting to run iOverlander that way, we know it is not possible and also we have to make our living out of something, right? Can’t see how it’s worth it
I’ll stick with the old version the only benefit I can see with the new one is offline maps which is not worth $100 a year.
Or though iOverlander is great it's not worth that much not when there are over apps for free camp sites and google for everything else. In fact, at least with Google, you can download local offline maps for free.
Shame it's so over priced as the old version is great. I’ll be deleting iOverlander2 from my phone as it’s useless with out paying for it.

HI, thanks for your feedback. With the new version we are providing a lot more new features, like adding your favorites, quick check-in, amenity filters, a Spanish UI. Maybe you wanna give us a second chance? Thank you!
