There really isn’t much in the way of animated content, especially compared to Divoom, but hey the frames which run this app are much much cheaper.

This could be solved with GIF import, which you can do in the ‘animation’ tab. However, it has poor downscaling algorithms for content larger than 32px (you can export from Divoom at 320px, but when imported/downscaled in this app it’s over-smoothed) and many imported GIFs are too slow even with the speed slider on full. That speed slider needs to go too much faster speeds!

I love this thing and it is a great addition to my setup. However, I strongly recommend to the developers, please add a feature that enables some type of GIF upload in regard to the animation mode. To create your own animation using a video or gif. You must use a third party app to ‘frame grab’ and then dauntingly upload the frames one-by-one. If iDotMatrix had the ability to turn a video/GIF into an animation with one simple upload, that would make the app insanely powerful as a display piece.

App works okay but would be better with Alexa/Google integration. There is a bug where no matter what time you put in, when you try set a schedule or alarm, it comes up with “Time setting error”. Also, switch is spelt wrong as “swich”
