Description

Icon Set Creator lets you quickly create icon assets for your apps: Just drag your high-resolution artwork (preferably, a PNG file at 1024x1024) into the app's window, chose the target platform, select a directory for exporting the results, and you're set. The currently supported formats are iOS, macOS, watchOS, and iMessage Apps.

Ideally, you would want to have your designer fine-tune each icon size by hand, for best visual results in terms of detail, pixel alignment, etc.
But if you just want to quickly fill all the "buckets" in the AppIcon entry of your asset catalog, this simple tool can help you.

What’s New

Amazing tool for app developers

I struggle with creativity apps like Illustrator, Pixlemator, Vectornator etc. I can use them, but I prefer not to.

I have just started developing apps and the throught of spending hours trying to get eactly the right size of image, several times, was daunting. Most of my early work has no app icon.

I found a link to this app on stack overflow, and I owe that person a drink for that link! This app is possibly the single most useful app I have used thus far in my devloping carrer. It cuts hours of my workload, and I don't need to worry about exact sizing. I would happily pay for this app beyond just the £1.99 IAP for 'coffee'.

Generally Works Great

This app pretty much does exactly what it sets out to do!

The only issue I’ve encountered is with transparency; Apple rejected an earlier version of one of my iOS apps made for a client, because the icon contained transparency, but even when I removed it from the source image (PNG), Icon Set Creator was still creating an icon set of transparency enabled PNGs, requiring an extra step to remove that. It's annoying, as this rule appears to be different from macOS, and Xcode happily allows you to use an icon with transparency in your iOS projects without raising any kind of warning, so it’s only when you submit to the app store that you become aware of it!

It would be nice in future to see support for this when creating iOS icon sets, for example a warning if the icon is transparet, and maybe an option ensure all traces of transparency are removed?

Great little tool, could use update for MacCatalyst

I really like this tool, what it does is simple, but it makes life much easier. Just drag an image onto it, and it will create an appicon set for iOS, macOS and others. An update to also include macCatalyst would be great. Until then, of course you can do that by hand by just merging the iOS and macOS icons.
