Description

A journey inside the human body factory

“… an amazing and intriguing game that's unlike anything you've played before.”
Pocket gamer

“Darjeeling has really captured the authenticity of Kahn's work”
Toucharcade

Homo Machina is a puzzle game inspired by the work of avant-garde scientist Fritz Kahn. Set off on a crazy journey to solve the surreal puzzles of Homo Machina and learn about the internal working of the human body, represented as a gigantic 1920s factory.

In this narrative puzzle, players are plunged into an ingenious system of nerves, vessels and valves. The aim is to help the body function correctly in about thirty steps or so throughout the entire day. Each scene breaks down daily acts, such as opening your eyes, chewing a toast or listening to music, through seamless navigation and intuitive and inventive gameplay.

Fritz Kahn, a pioneer of infographics and popular science, came up with easy to understand analogies to enable people to improve their understanding of the human body. By combining old school design with a contemporary influence, Homo Machina delights with its clever dialogue between the absent-minded director at the helm of the body-machine and Josiane, his diligent secretary, encouraging players to put to task the armada of workers to get the incredible factory up and running.

After Californium, Homo Machina is the new video game created by Darjeeling production. It was edited and co-produced by ARTE, European culture digital and TV channel, and Feierabend.

Education but short

It’s great any kid would love it I enjoyed it as an adult myself (25) but I find it annoying it doesn’t go in to all workings of the human body it only did waking up, smell, chewing, hearing and sight and how love affects you heart and if have cut
I think if had more to it or least updates to it or something for didn’t situation or different stages of a persons body like puberty I think would be great for kids and ageing stages this game is great and has opening for more possibilities to do more I hope it does

Brilliant game, too short for the cost.

The developers have done a really good job with the idea of this game. The artwork was great, there were varying elements in terms of gameplay mechanics which are unique and different to anything else on the App Store. My only complaint is that I had completed this in under 45 minutes worth of gameplay. For a £2.99 purchase, I expected far more from this, and at least some level of replay value. Sadly, once completed, I’ve uninstalled the game, never to be played again which is quite sad considering the potential that this has. I will happily try again if additional chapters are added to this, but for now I’d say that I regret spending the amount that I did on such a short experience.

Pleasant little gem

Full disclosure, I received this game for free. That said I would have happily paid £1-2 for it. It was a bit short with little replay value to be priced any higher. If the developers intend on releasing updates for other bodily functions then it would be worth a bit more.

Great mechanics and although the gameplay is easy, it never feels boring.
