Description
Convenient, intuitive and customizable, Hi-Kumo is a remote control interface allowing you to control your Air to Air and Air to Water Hitachi Heat Pumps.
With this application, you can:
- Simply and quickly paire all your compatible equipment (air conditioning, heating, domestic hot water, pool heating)
- Create in seconds a weekly schedule to minimise your energy consumption,
- Ensure optimal comfort in your home by cheking at a glance the status of your equipments.
- Benefit from a comfortable environment on your return from holiday by activating 'Holiday Mode'.
Hi-Kumo is available throughout Europe.
To function with the Hitachi home automation box Hi-Box, it is necessary to combine home automation gateways on each indoor unit.
Operation in Wifi mode is possible for Air to Air heat pumps only and requires the installation of Wifi gateways on each indoor unit.
What’s New
Version 1.3.2
This update 1.3.2 is proposing the following improvements:
- Adding Power Consumption data for Yutaki and Yutampo systems (air-to-water systems). An external power meter may be necessary to get power data for Yutaki units manufactured before mid-2021.
- Corrections related to some translations
- Adding translations for Turkish and Russian.

Limited Functionality
I have the Hi-Kumo app (Hi-Box) in conjunction with the Wireless Thermostat ATW-RTU-07. There are some conflicts with the two controls.
On my system only the Space heating schedule can be set on the app but heating and hot water can be turned on and off. The app is simple but does not provide enough information as to what part of the system has priority.
I also find that you are logged out after about 30sec and have to log back into the app again. This is not adjustable.
The help section is very good as it contains access to the user manual for my system.
Loses Connection
The app works fine for a day or so - then loses connection for no apparent reason, and the only way to reestablish connection is to power unit down and go through the pairing again.
The pairing process is hit and miss - sometimes it works, more often than not it doesn’t. Cant seem to get help anywhere other than the manual. This was not cheap to set up - kinda hoped for better! :-(
Tech geek here so paid a bit more for this
After two days the app says “Error the device is disconnected or the indoor unit is not powered” and the only way to fix the problem is to cycle the power. Hitachi support has said this is a fault with the app.
