Heroes of History: Epic Empire 9+

This game takes a lot of how it looks from Rise of Cultures. The city building component is very similar so far (Just a few hours of gameplay).

This is not just a simple of copy of rise of cultures though, it has a completely new combat system where heroes play a key role, similar to afk style gacha games that I have played.

The combat system offers much deeper tactics and more thought needs to be put into what heroes I want to place where on the battlefield to combat the enemy.

Honestly I was dubious at first, worried that Inno were trying to right the wrongs of Rise of Cultures.

I am enjoying the game and also don‘t feel like I have to invest hundreds in the first days in order to push my account. There are some offers at the start, some good, some not so good, but credit to Inno that they are not diluting the gameplay with massive amounts of resources and prizes that in the end have no value, this is a common tactic from other Gacha PVE & PVP games.

Please Inno, keep up the development work on this title and don‘t let it reach the endgame too soon.

As said genuinely enjoying the game the building is a little slow without spending but not the end of the world, I like the hero aspect upgrading them etc campaign to begin with is easy then all of a sudden becomes completely un winnable until your grind your heroes up which requires specific items from the harder levels which personally I think is an oversight (or not probably want you to spend money) and then there’s ARENA its a complete joke hence the loss of a star I simply don’t bother I collect my one match for the daily challenge then don’t touch it complete and utter waste of time team power and composition is pointless its literally just a coin flip won’t let you manually target so your hero’s use there ability’s on a healer that then instantly heals whilst being smacked in the face by another enemy ? Can play again a team with day 1000 less power and still lose in my opinion needs heavily looking at/changing all in all a fun time killer with a p2w aspect but if your patient then you can progress.

I've been playing since October, last year after leaving ROC. Both me and mum were intrigued by the premise, but she quickly became confused by how to do things and I became bored. We love getting heroes, and we've got some good five star, but there's no progression. When you start there's lots of story about Tesla, which gets you into the game, but once the grind starts that's all forgotten. The arena is confusing, as you lose against people weaker than you, and again, no progression. Whether level 10 or 70. It's all the same. Allied countries are really tedious now. If I ever have to do Egypt again, I will scream. Over and over, simply because inno had the resources from the last game, and didn't know what else to do with them. At least, cultures wasnt all about money. This is just too intrusive, it puts me off. I will never pay, and the more they ask, the more I'm likely to just leave. I'd have given it 5* in November. Probably give it 3 in March, and by April, I think I'm gone.
