Not fit for the current purpose
I know the app has been repurposed and SJA shift planning wasn’t its original use, but to be less unwieldy it needs some modifications. Some minimal requirements are:
- Greater stability so that users are not randomly asked to enter a pin that they don’t know
- Ability to search by type of shift (vaccinator/carer/advocate)
- Ability to search shifts by geographical area
- Ability to search shifts by distance from a geographical point
- Ability to view all volunteered but not confirmed shifts across sites and dates
- Preferably a more user friendly UI so that search criteria don’t have to be entered over and over
I’m sure there are other improvements that could be made and this is just from a volunteer point of view; I’m guessing the admin side is just as big a headache for users
What have you done
Updated the app today to the latest version....... improved login and user experience ...... I can’t even login... In fact the app doesn’t even get to the point of asking me to login. No fingerprint, no password, nothing 🙄 can’t see any of my shifts so if I don’t turn up for work, it’s not my fault (as if my employer would accept that). Either get this fixed please or give us the old one back. It may not have been perfect but at least it worked 😁

I uninstalled the app; waited 24 hours and then reinstalled. I’m pleased to say that everything now appears to be working well 👍🏻 I must give fair credit to the developer too. Whilst they didn’t actually do anything to fix my issue (because it was dealt with before they had a chance), they were in touch to understand what the issues were and I am confident they would have done everything they could to fix it. Nice one developers ✊🏻

Dreadful waste of time, money and effort
Not intuitive; errors blamed on iOS updates when they existed prior to the updates; the same problems as listed countless times by other users - requests for non-existent PIN’s, error messages; inability to access any shifts etc etc. Must be simple to design an app that gives access to available shifts only, remove posts wince they are filled; pre-select roles before being directed to a venue so there’s no need to scroll through countless irrelevant screens. I’m not a software designer but it seems pretty obvious whoever designed this programme had no idea of the requirements and what the brief really was. As the client surely SJA can insist on better before all its volunteers lose the will to live😩😤😡
