Griptonite 4+

Very well designed and easy to use, logging climbs is very quick, but some of the analysis could do with some work. It would be good to be able to sort the climbs you’ve completed by grades when comparing against others so you can compare the hardest rather than the most recent. The league table is also skewed in favour of people who log every climb including warmups, it would be nice to have a league of the top ten climbs, even though this would move me down the list!
I can’t find a good way to track progress either, maybe a line graph of points or top ten grades over time?
One more nice to have feature would be integration with health apps to help me with my health insurance, e.g. Google fit and Apple health.
It’s the most popular app with gyms, hopefully it can be the best too!

was keen to try the app however on downloading it wouldn’t let me sign up, when i would put my details in and press the submit button nothing would happen. I contacted the support team, who were lovely but not very helpful in the end.

I sent over a screen recording of what i was experiencing and got the basic response uninstall and reinstall which I’d already tried. In the screen recording my password wasn’t visible due to IOS privacy reasons which i looked up to check it was definite, I was told to input a password, which i had many times. After explaining that i had it just doesn’t show up i got no more replies and still got no further on the app.

So although the team did seem helpful at the start it seems like they only gave me two basic suggestions, implying that the issue was on my part, then gave up. Would’ve liked to try the app but will be deleting unfortunately.

I like Griptonite to track my climbing, check betas and get insights from my climbing.

The reason I’m giving it 3 stars is that it’s lacking a few features I would’ve expected to see in the app.

The features I would love to see:
* check videos you submitted as beta on your profile
* add/follow other climbers
* incentive to progress from novice to intermediate to advanced (there isn’t a clear breakdown of what it’s required for this)
* ability to search for gyms by typing their name
* follow gyms and get notifications when walls are reset

I’m happy to see that more and more gyms in London started to use this app for route setting. I’m also happy to update my rating once these features start to get implemented.
