Gorillas: Grocery Delivery 4+

I’ve ordered several times now, so this is my experience so far:

The speed in which my items gets delivered is really impressive! And the delivery people are always so friendly, it really makes a difference.

Once they sent me 1 wrong item and I contacted customer service on the app and they replied right away, giving me credit and in minutes someone was knocking at my door to give me the right order with an extra treat.

The range of products on the app is decent and I don’t find myself needing to go elsewhere to get things. Occasionally things that I want are out of stock, but that’s understandable.

The app in itself isn’t mind-blowing, and I hope they gradually build more features and functionality (e.g better discoverability, and seeing information about a specific product, especially allergens), but overall it gets the job done!

I have other similar apps downloaded on my phone, but this is the only one I order from.

It would be great if they had some type of customer loyalty programme as I’m sure that’d increase the frequency in which people order :)

And I also hope the delivery people get a decent wage as they absolutely deserve it!

Note: I haven’t completed an order so I can’t talk about that aspect.

This is a great idea, although to be honest are we really so time poor that we need our groceries delivered in the next ten minutes? And anyway, for my local shop apparently I have to wait a whopping 12.5 minutes - how will I cope?! But that aside, the sign-up process was tricky. After trying several times to sign using an Apple email address - and every time the process failed for unstated reasons - I eventually did manage to join using my mobile number.

Unfortunately when I started to browse the products and prices I noticed that the vast majority were towards the premium end of the spectrum, and the prices were a lot higher than I would pay from the major supermarkets. This is great if you have the disposable income, but it was too steep for me. I understand that they’re not a charity, so they need to make money. And let’s face it, for ten minute deliveries (or 12.5 minutes in my area) you would expect to pay a premium. But to say that the goods are at retail prices is a little disingenuous in my opinion. I’m sure you can find shops selling these goods at the given prices, but most of us wouldn’t choose to shop there.

Unfortunately the review I previously gave I think was a little generous as when I come to use a number of fresh produce, such as tomatoes which were extortionate and labelled speciality when they were anything but, pineapple, kiwis etc were inedible. Customer service is quick to respond and apply credit to your account to ensure they don’t lose out and you give the money back to them. Suddenly what I first thought as convenient is no longer that. Because now I have to go and get the items elsewhere. I don’t think I would buy fresh produce from here again.

Ok further to the above Gorilla just seem to be going downhill before they have even got off the ground I just spoke to. Slavica after waiting over an hour for my delivery who said the eta doesn’t work and she can’t tell me when it will appear and that she couldn’t find out when and if it would be delivered.

They were busy and apparently 1.80 back should fix that. I will go to the shops quicker, better products better service there was none here today such a shame started off so promising
