GLEN Learn 4+

GLEN Learn helps children learn to read English, with guided exercises that build pre-reading skills, and engaging stories and rhymes. It is personalized, letting children learn at their own pace, with built-in assessments and skill-strengthening exercises that adapt to the child’s progress. We have drawn on best practices in Instructed Second Language Acquisition research to design content that systematically builds the foundations of literacy: vocabulary (what words mean), phonics (how words are built from sounds), and orthography (how words are written).

Children can enjoy GLEN Learn at home, preschool, or school. Teachers and caregivers can use GLEN Learn as a resource to help children get ready for school, or to catch up on skills they might be missing. The stories and rhymes included in GLEN Learn allow parents and caregivers to enjoy Story Time with their children, regardless of their own level of literacy.

GLEN Learn has been designed from the ground up to prepare children for their academic journey by helping them build pre-reading skills before they enter Kindergarten. But it can also be used in elementary school. Teachers can direct students to GLEN Learn to strengthen their language skills, and can use the tools tracking learner progress to understand what kind of help a child needs. GLEN Learn can also provide the basis for designing new instruction modules: a skilled teacher can craft a rich set of reading, comprehension, and bilingual activities around it.
