Great idea, but would benefit from Dropbox

Having used and recommend the FormFill pro (for iPad) version of this software to many fellow sparks, and having found many bugs in it which the developer has quickly rectified over the years, this software has the potential to be great on the iPhone too. As per a discussion with the developer many years ago when creating large EICR certs with many pictures, the developer quickly updated the app to include a Dropbox account which was excellent. Therefore, having tested the iPhone app by emailing a txt version of a certificate to myself and then dragging the file across to Dropbox and downloaded it onto the iPad, everything thing opened up and allowed me to create a PDF on the iPad, whereby a linking of Dropbox accounts into the iPhone app would allow me to create certs on the phone without having to also lug the iPad around and constantly being paranoid of having it stolen on site. Then when back in the office or van the certs would be available on the iPad via Dropbox for completion & emailing to the client.

Castline / formfill

This a great tool which works in tandem with the castline desktop software.

The only downfalls that I do see with it is that when transferred on to the desktop version there is some items that are missing, also it would be good to have a library of preset observations on the EICR section.

One massive improvement would also be to all pictures to be uploaded to back up observations etc.

Be fantastic when the bugs get ironed out

Its a great app for existing users of FormFill. i can fill in every kind of certificate i need and just email it straight to my supervisor to import into FormFill on the PC and sign-off.
The app is really easy to use and covers everything needed for NICEIC certificates. You can edit and pop back to different sections at any time. On an iPhone 4S it multitasks very well. When i recieve a call mid way through a certificate it doesnt loose any information, just goes straight back to where you were.

Only real criticism is the keyboard tends to get in the way meaning you have to go back and forwards through the pages a lot to get to boxes hidden by it. Some pages seem to have a 'done' button on the top of the keyboard which makes it shrink back so possibly its a bit more work needed for that to appear on every keyboard screen.

finally an iPad version would be much easier to use as the small screen on the iPhone makes it awkward to fill in.
