Ratings and Reviews
Just dumb
But seeing how Yamaha has been over the last few years. No real surprise there.
How long has the mx series been out now and Yamaha are still locking this app behind a hardware trial at the minimum and a hard up sell of an entry level synth at worst. News flash Yamaha, if I wanted to buy an mx synth, I’d have already done it. But I really don’t like the key feel on low end keybeds so the mx is a straight miss for me. If it played like a dx7 keybed then we’d have a discussion. Just offer a pay option and auv3 and well, I’d pay for an official Yamaha synth app.
Yamaha Doesn’t Get It
A message to Yamaha: Look at Korg, Moog, Arturia, Sugar Bytes and Waldorf. They are serious creators of pro music hardware and/or software who have brought their wares to iOS, and not only has it not had a negative impact on their non-iOS sales, but it has actually become successful a route into new markets, building trust and loyalty with new customers. If you persist with your policy of producing otherwise great apps and then purposely crippling them to encourage sales of hardware, you will be on a hiding to nothing. How many sales of hardware have come directly from this app? How much money could you make by allowing customers to purchase full access to this app? You’ve done the hard work by creating it, now let us use it.
Such a shame
Great sounding app and some fabulous features, but I have no way of getting to a store to unlock it using a Yamaha MX keyboard. Definitely a shame on Yamaha, assuming everyone is able to do this.
