Cannot Restore Subscription

When it was working it seemed like a fairly decent app, considering it’s a redux version of the desktop one. My issues started when I took a flight and put the iPad into airplane mode. It logged me out and I couldn’t access the files the entire flight. Then to make matters worse, since reconnecting to the internet I cannot restore my subscription. I can see that the developers respond on here, so hopefully it’ll be fixed. For now, until I see a marked improvement I will just keep to the desktop version.

Developer Response ,

Hi Peter Shipton. We released an update on 1/7 (7.2.4) that addressed a sign in issue. We hope you have updated your FD Go and it has resolved your issues. If that is not the case, please reach to our Tech Support team, they are standing by Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 5:30 pm PST via live chat at https://www.finaldraft.com/sf/chat-support.php. or by email at https://www.finaldraft.com/contact/contact-technical-support/

Unusable, unprofessional

Incredibly disappointed with this app - I use Final Draft all the time for work and have done for years. I thought I would be able to conduct that work on my iPad with this app. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Like others I had an error message comes up when I tried to log on. After too much research (it wasn’t easy to discover what the issue was) I discovered that this was because that email address was already registered with backstage and a few other sites. I changed the email address on the account and got in.

Problem fixed, or so I thought, now the app is asking me to pay for a subscription before I access it - despite the fact I already paid for an annual subscription.

All these problems opening and using the app require an internet connection to fix. But I got it specifically to use on the go (as the app name suggests) when an internet connection isn’t always available.

I have had the app for over a month now. Have attempted to use it multiple times and have not been able to do a single days work on it. I have however wasted a lot of time trying to get it to work. I would have been significantly better off never downloading it in the first place. This app is not suitable for professionals. I’m shocked Final Draft released it in this state. You cannot reliably use it to do work. Seek alternatives.

So so buggy!

I’m dumbfounded at how unusable this app is. From a major publisher with software used globally, I mistakingly thought that they would release an app that at the very least has the ability to be logged in to. I’ve paid for the subscription and every time I open it up I get prompted to create an account and no amount of entering different emails and passwords can I get into the software.

I read somewhere online that if you already have an account on backstage or Mandy that you have to use a DIFFERENT EMAIL? WHAT? So if this is true why is this not clearly stated when you are trying to log in? Also, does this mean that GO is not connecting to your FD account to pull in scripts you’ve written on desktop? If not, then what is the point of this app? Either way I can’t find out because I can’t log in

Do no purchase until these bugs from over a year ago are fixed.

Developer Response ,

Hi WhizzKihd87. We are terribly sorry for the issue you experienced when signing up for an account with the app. We had a technical issue that we have since resolved. Please, at your earliest convenience, install the latest version of FD Go and you’ll be able to complete your account creation steps.
