FigJam: Whiteboard & draw 4+

Support for Apple Pencil should be improved (more markers and pressure sensing). For the rest, best alternative to FreeForm available on all platforms (even web!)

I use Figma and FigJam like my life depends on it, I can’t believe they wasted so much time on creating a separate app without fixing all of its issues first. The iPad is a touch first device, you cannot force the use of a keyboard or trackpad on a touch device. The virtual keyboard sometimes appears, sometimes is the iphone keyboard, sometimes it’s not even there. The pencil integration is borderline ridiculous, like none of the developers ever used one. Automatic features are just annoyingly wrong: if you type on a long sticky note, it will always be centered and covered by the keyboard (if it’s there!); there’s no shape recognition for the pencil, only a ruler that creates straight lines horizontally or vertically, and they don’t snap to the grid; shapes instead snap to the grid and there is no way to change that at all; there are no keyboard suggestions; there is no autocorrect; if you want to have the laugh of your life, try using dictation; the automatic selection of “pointer” or “free move” is just wrong, it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.
They spend so much time perfecting micro animations and introducing weird stuff like the new tool bar instead of focusing on creating a great app. It should make my job easier, not more stressful!

The screen jumps around when tapping into larger boxes. Impossible to bring up the copy and paste options for text within boxes. Handwriting with the pen doesn’t work, but it hides the keyboard anyway. Very unintuitive and hard to use. Thought I would take my iPad to work while out of the house, but haven’t been able to do anything.
