Ratings and Reviews
Got this to use with my Sandisk drive, does far more than that though
Bought a new Sandisk iXpand drive and the Sandisk app is functional at best. I had been using a video player app (which unfortunately did not support the iXpand) and separately a tried and tested server / storage type app (which also didn’t support it), but now I find both things integrated in this app. Even as a bonus it does not need the iXpand app to be installed at all. Not found a video it won’t play, it can play back off the iXpand plus very easily move files to and from local store, the iXpand, and any connected server with simple drag and drop. This is now my go to app for storage, file shuffling and video playback. Well worth the money.
PLEASE fix navigating large lists of folders!
I've liked this app for a long time now. It's really useful in accessing the music and videos stored on my network drives. Recently they've made it prettier too.
BUT, frustratingly, they STILL haven't implemented a quick way of navigating a long list of folders. It's now been THREE YEARS since I've been asking for this feature and it's sorely needed.
Will you just FIX the thing already?
For example, my music folder contains more than a thousand folders, in a-z order.
To get to, say, Q, there's an inordinate amount of scrolling required. They really need to add an alphabetical jump list, as seen in many other apps, so that you can touch Q to jump straight to the Qs.
Other apps, such as Dropbox, have this functionality, so why can't it be implemented in File Explorer.
The other annoying thing is that it doesn't remember where you last were. If I go to bed having started an audio book, next morning I have to navigate back to it all the way from the beginning choosing drive, folder and so forth. A remember last folder option would be very useful.
This is a good app, which would rate a solid 5 stars, if they only fixed these two items. AS THEY CONTINUE TO IGNORE THIS FLAW ITS NOW DOWN TO 3 stars from me!
I use this to store photos and music
Apple trashed my well ordered photo collection into a mish mash of random pictures. It took all my music albums and split them up by artists. This wonderful app leaves everything alone, plays music as I stored it and allows me to find my photographs by date and place (the way they were stored). Not sure why iTunes messed everything up and then Photos completed the trashing.
I love this App as it lets me find the things where I left them. Buy it and take control over the Apple apps that want to sell you music and movies.
This app also stores and plays movies which have been ripped and stored from the original cd. It even finds a cover for the file. Brilliant!
