Description
Famipoi is an app designed to support children’s chores and independence by helping them take on new responsibilities. The app allows parents to reward children with points when they complete chores or daily tasks, and to manage these points for exchanging rewards.
Not just for kids, Famipoi can also be used to manage family tasks—such as awarding points when dad takes out the trash or mom does the dishes—making it a convenient tool for tracking points across the household.
Features of Famipoi
Add, edit, and delete daily task lists.
Assign points for completed tasks (resets daily).
Display points earned today, today’s achievement rate, and the current total points.
Add, edit, and delete reward items for point exchange.
Directly add or remove points through manual editing.
Add or edit members, including names and icons.
View point history and track daily achievements using a calendar.
How to Use Famipoi
Set up members’ names and icons in the “Edit Members” section.
Edit daily tasks in the “Edit Task List” section.
Manage rewards in the “Edit Reward Items” section.
Tap on completed tasks in the daily task list to award points.
When enough points are earned, exchange them for rewards from the list (rewards must be provided by the person managing the app).
Review your point history to track progress.
As tasks are successfully completed more frequently, add new or more challenging tasks to the list.
Why Famipoi Was Created
In my family, we used to reward our children with snacks or pocket money when they helped with household chores, learned new skills, or completed daily tasks. However, this led to concerns about children associating chores solely with monetary rewards or feeling like they were “working for money.”
About two years ago, we switched to a point-based system. We used a notebook to create daily task lists and provided point cards (e.g., 5 points per card) that the children collected in a tin can. While this method encouraged calculation practice, managing points on paper was time-consuming. Adding tasks or reward items often required rewriting or creating new notebook pages.
As our children grew better at calculations, the need for physical point cards diminished. To streamline the process, I decided to develop an app that could simplify point management and enhance the experience for both parents and children.
Famipoi was born from this journey!
