Exoticca: Travellers’ App 4+

This was our second trip with Exoticca and and was equally as good as the first. We opted for charm category hotels this time and you couldn’t fault any of them. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and bright clean towels. Some of the breakfast were basic enough but you get what you pay for! There’s so much packed in to the itinerary that you’re only using your room to sleep in! The guides were great and we learned a lot about the country as we travelled from one place to the next. The Kruger stay was AMAZING! The Big Five in the bag now! Cape Town was great too and the hop on hop off bus was a great way to get oriented (included in the trip). We opted for an extension in Mauritius which was the icing on the cake. Again, a charm hotel which was lovely.

We were not completely happy with this tour. Firstly we received hotel confirmation a week before travelling. I have used other your companies and we have gone through each hotel and discussed if it is a good location. This was not done with exotica.
Secondly on our tours we were never offered water. The temperatures were in the high 30s and 40s. We had to pay to have a bottled water. This is appalling and a breach of human rights.
Secondly too much time was wasted with flights. We left our accommodation in Cairo to take a flight to Luxor at 3 am. The tour guide did not explain or give us details about the flight. Once we arrived at Cairo airport we had a long wait before boarding our plane to Luxor. Once we arrived at Luxor we had to wait another hour before a couple joined us before we started our tour.
All of the above details should have been well explained to us before we booked our tour. I’m d we knew this tour was going to be so disorganised we would not have booked it in the first place.
This is the first and only time I have used Exotica. In future I will use my regular reputable holiday company.

Day 1 Our flight was cancelled Day 2We finally arrived late, with no help from you, having travelled via NewYork and Guatemala Day 3 Went to Tortuguero after picking up people from hotels all over San Jose Day 4 Returned from Tortuguero after extremely wet boat trip which was curtailed due to heavy rain. The “charming city of Gualipes” was a roadside cafe off the motorway. We began to wonder about Exoticca. Day 5 Our hike to Arenal was rerouted due to frailty of a member of the group. Was informed that it was very unlikely that we would get a view of the mountain Day 6 Had distant view of sloths Day 7Travelling, another wet day Day 8 Hanging bridges, finally began to enjoy ourselves. Night walk very pleasant, shame about the crowds. Day 9 Cloud forest enjoyable, again it was very crowded Day 10 Travelling again, room wasn’t ready until mid afternoon, another day wasted. Day11 Good boat safari Day 12 Pleasant time on beach Day 13 Long day travelling. Day 14 Long day travelling. Day 15 Arrived home feeling in need of a holiday. None of the pick up times given by you for excursions or departures were correct Will not be recommending you to anyone.
