Description
EpiCentr app is designed for individuals with seizure disorders and their caregivers. It’s intended to enhance safety and support during seizure episodes by alerting emergency contacts. It also includes a comprehensive journal to track seizures and detailed statistics reports for doctors.
The app actively monitors seizure-like triggers, promptly alerting your designated emergency contacts if a seizure is suspected. Specifically, our watch app utilizes Apple HealthKit to track user’s heart rate, while leveraging the gyroscope and accelerometer on Apple Watch to monitor the user's arm motion. If a seizure-like pattern is detected, an alert is promptly sent.
For immediate assistance or in case if Apple Watch is not available, manual alerts can be initiated directly from your iPhone. Additionally, the app allows you to maintain a detailed journal, effortlessly tracking triggers and recording side-effects, auras, and personal notes. Keeping all data at one place, the app provides reports with important descriptive statistics giving valuable insights to you and your healthcare provider.
KEY FEATURES AND HOW TO USE THE APP:
- Seizure Detection: By utilizing your Apple Watch, the app monitors various seizure-like triggers, such as motion patterns associated with tonic-clonic seizures, different types of falls, and abnormal heart rate. If any of these triggers are detected, the app initiates a delayed alert, which will be automatically sent to your emergency contacts if not manually canceled within 30 seconds. Set up automatic seizure monitoring by following the instructions provided in the app.
- Manual Alerts: Activate alerts instantly from your iPhone or Apple Watch. Choose between two alert types: Help Now, which sends an immediate notification, and Delayed Help, where a 30-second countdown is initiated before sending the alert if not canceled.
- GPS Location Sharing: When a help request is sent, the app automatically includes your GPS coordinates (if available) in the notifications sent to your emergency contacts. This crucial information enables them to locate you swiftly, ensuring timely and accurate assistance. Please grant location sharing permission to the app for this feature to function.
- Journal: Keep track of vital information about your seizures using the app's comprehensive journal. Effortlessly monitor triggers, record side-effects, track auras, and add personal notes. Seizure records are automatically captured, and you have the option to edit or add necessary details. Over time, the app consolidates all this essential data in one convenient location, providing you and your healthcare provider with detailed reports featuring important descriptive statistics.
- Roles: The app operates in two modes: one for individuals with seizure disorders and another for their caregivers.
Download the EpiCentr app now to experience a new level of confidence and security in managing seizures and seeking help when it matters most.

Ratings and Reviews
I’ve just been been diagnosed so don’t know yet all my symptoms or signs.
It would be good to take account of newly diagnosed people during set up.
Misreading heart rate consistently
I have the app on my Apple Watch, and I am having constant issues with the heart rate monitoring. A few minutes ago, the app somehow read my heart rate as going over 160, and was consistently starting the alert timer after cancelling it constantly for two minutes, even though my watch was only read my bpm as 140 after walking uphill for 5 minutes. This morning, the alarm got sent off halfway through a car ride when I was sat still. I’ve also had it reading seizures at night despite not having them. I have false alerts most days, which if don’t realise, makes my family worry when they get sent the alert. Of course, this isn’t a world ending issue as it’s better to get too many alerts than not recognise actual seizures, but it is still very annoying.

Good but needs some improvements
So much more can be done with this app! The care giver app should be able to see a lot more information eg. Heart rate and Heart rate alerts over a set rate. Able to turn off from care giver app when alerted.
Users app would benefit from visual display of heart rate too. Easy turn off from watch when attended.
Other features are good and has picked up a few seizures during the night, even with a VNS fitted. All other alarms are not compatible with it.
From a mum with a son who has seizures 24/7 and can have 3/4 tonic clonic seizures a day.
