Ratings and Reviews
Essential for CDMX
I love these bikes and I use them daily and I can get around the city easily and much quicker than cheaper than an Uber.
Yes, sometimes there are issues as others have said but I think this to be expected from such a big network of bikes so throughly used by people.
As long as you take care while docking and make sure the bike is returned (wait for confirmation) you should be good 99% of the time.
I had one time where I had docked but the bike was still registered out even though it was securely locked in the dock and I only realised a while afterwards. I just had to refresh the app like 10 times and suddenly it recognised the bike was docked, but I got charged for 2 hours. This was also my fault for not taking the time to check the dock had registration the return at the station.
So just be careful and make sure the bike is confirmed returned in the app before leaving, even if it beeps OK.
App works well
It’s a good app and it works well. The map is the most useful function. However, there are some bicycles with the same branding around the city that do not seem compatible with the app — these bikes look older and do not appear on the map inside the app.
Every day a new problem
I bought a 7 day plan for Mexico City and every day there was a different issue. Issues with the bikes not docking and then being charged for running over. Now the app won’t let me log in. The message is “contact customer services”. Ok how? Any help? So it looks like 2 days of the 7 I’ve paid for will go unused now. The bikes are also heavy with almost zero electrical assistance. I feel like I’ve had some good exercise at least but anyone who isn’t that fit might struggle
