Dr. Prius is an app developed to help professional Toyota/Lexus hybrid repair shop or owners to examine the health of the High Voltage battery. It turns your mobile device into a professional diagnostic equipment that usually cost thousand of dollars, it is being trusted by 253+ professional repair shops around the world.
Dr. Prius perform test and provides access to all the relevant battery information to quickly help identify problems with a simple touch on the screen of a smartphone, do not fall victim to bad battery, test the battery and print the certificate to prove the health of the battery system.
Note: This app requires a ELM327 Bluetooth OBD interface to communicate with your hybrid vehicle, most of the cheap clone ELM327 will not work due to inability to switch between ECUs in your vehicle. Ok, could app developers and hardware adaptor/adapter suppliers just provide clear instructions on the fundamentals of getting stuff up and running. I’ve just deleted my initial negative review, but between bluetooth classic setup (a manual selection in iphone ‘settings’), and the newer BLE bluetooth lite protocol, and then the bluetooth software ‘switch’ on the APP area of ‘settings’ in iOS that must be set to ‘on’ for Dr Prius app to gain access to operate, there’s a lot of bluetooth …. A lot that a dev or adaptor maker COULD be referring to when they say ‘make sure bluetooth is connected’.
No, it’s not hard, not once you’ve done it, but that’s not who instructions are written for. If I wanted to flounder and figure it out the slow way myself, I’d be working in IT and getting paid for it. A great app, why not avoid spoiling the experience. Take care all.
Useless app connects to nothing
I’ve tried various obd2 readers now and even used a link provided on your app to source the Carista one. Detects it but times out. Given up now, other apps can monitor blocks and aren’t as fussy. Useless app, wouldn’t bother - go for Torque which will show you similar info.
