DoorBird 4+

I have had my D101 for some time now and really like it. Most people compare it to the Ring but one important factor is sometimes missed. Doorbird’s connectivity cannot be matched by Ring so if you do not want to pay a storage subscription then Doorbird is a better long term option. I also like that the app can work along side my DS Cam app which stores the Doorbird footage together with the footage from my other brand of CCTV cameras. It means I can have a screen split into 6 feeds just like any professionally installed system. The app works well and even though the Doorbird is connected via WIFI the lag is minimal and very acceptable. One feedback point - I would like the IR to come on automatically when it goes dark and stay on until dawn, just like my other cameras.

Thanks for the detailed review! You can switch between automatic and manual IR light activation in the Expert Settings of the App. If set to "automatic", the IR light will be activated automatically at twilight and deactivated at dawn. Feel free to upgrade your review if you like ;)

Love that this door intercom can open and close a door latch.

Unfortunately pressing the door release button rarely works on the initial press and similarly presenting a RFID tag can seem to take an age to react.
It’s almost like you have to get the program out of sleep mode before it reacts.

Well all good on paper but it is only good as a intercom if you are on local network it is fine but if you are away from your property connecting over the internet 3G/G4 tested at 20-50mb uploads 15-40mb upload are WiFi tested at 80mb download 20mb upload you can hear and see the person at the other end but when it comes to you talking to the person the audio does not work properly at the DoorBird. I have tried three different routers three different PoE injector with a 200mb download 8mb upload tested at the door over with cat 7 cable it’s is not my wiring or router. Software? I have contacted DoorBird it has been 1 week and not much as happened they have contacted me as yet they are not very keen to fix? I will be sending this back before my return date runs out unless they fix my problem. I will update this when my situation is resolved
