Description
Once you select your camera from an extensive list of modern and vintage cameras, all you have to do is pick your distance, aperture, and lens from the 3 sliders. All the calculations you need to set up that perfect shot are instantly available as you slide the values. A simple and minimal interface helps you focus on fine-tuning your settings one-handed. Your thumb is in the sweet spot of the screen where you can move the sliders with precision and ease.
Whether you prefer metric or imperial DOF has you covered. There are settings for distance measurements in meters or feet. Aperture range starts from f/0.5 up to f/64 with or without hard stops. Focal length extends for super wide angle lenses from 3 mm all the way to 1200 mm telephoto. The distance scale starts from 0.01 meters up to 9000 meters.
Cameras are plentiful. DOF features hundreds of camera models from Sony, Nikon, Canon, Fujifilm, Kodak, Konica, Leica, Minolta, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Ricoh, Samsung, Sigma as well as Hasselblad, Leaf, Phase One and Mamiya. Larger film formats include 35mm, 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7, 6x9, 4x5, 5x7, 8x10 and cinematographic formats like 16mm, Super 16, 35mm are also available. Plus a full list of Circle of Confusion values.
The app offers plenty of customization using in-app purchases. Options include extending the distance slider for macro, telephoto, and superzoom distances plus you can purchase your favorite camera series.

Hidden cost
The app is free to install, however, firstly you’ll have to pay in order to select the appropriate camera, and only after that you’re being informed that you’ll have to cough up an additional £5.99 for the app itself. Therefore, there are hidden costs. Imho this is a bit of a con, as I find the whole purchasing system misleading. Why not state in the first place the app price in addition to adding specific camera price. I lost £0.99 but I won’t buy this app as a matter of principle, due to reasons mentioned above. You have been warned.
Pro photographer (landscape &street)
Absolutely excellent! This app is invaluable to any photographer wishing to get to grips with Depth of field. If you are a street or landscape photographer you will benefit big time! Perfect for calculating zone focusing in street and also the optimum focus in landscapes. I conduct workshops for both genres and use it throughout each workshop. 5 stars for usability too, it is easy and covers pretty much all the popular brands and models! Worth every penny!
Garbage
So you pay for your specific camera group - so you can select it in the settings. This however seemingly changes nothing. You can still select apertures that your camera cannot achieve or lenses that your fixed lens camera cannot possibly use. Buy the app by all means but totally ignore the in-app purchases. Even after buying the app you have to pay extra to remove adds.

Hi, most of the cameras in the list are free. Some cameras and camera groups however require an in app purchase to unlock the camera sensor needed for the DOF calculations. Lenses, apertures, and distances are universal and not camera specific.
