The fact that you can change booked ticket dates on this app without a nonsensical £10 ‘admin’ fee that all the other train apps charge puts it head and shoulders above the rest. The app itself is fine and easy to use.

This was my preferred app for train info & tickets for years. Easy to use, accurate, I recommended to everyone: a true 5 star app….
However, the recent update that ‘lost’ the live times option has drastically changed my opinion: without live train information it is no longer fit for purpose. To add insult to injury, the app info in the App Store still claims that you have access to live train times and ‘real time’ travel information, when you now palpably don’t!
For fans of the older version all is not lost, as at the time of writing this, the Northern Rail app still has the live times function and looks & feels similar to the old version of this app. I used it this weekend and it was a painless experience: the live information available meant I was able to plan ‘on the fly’ when power supply issues affected my route.

You too can now pay a horrendous amount of money through this app to sit on the floor of a crowded train with no food or drink. I’ve travelled all over the world by train and this company is so bad the only way they could get worse is to slap your face as you board as a welcome gift. This company are redefining the word ‘terrible’. The staff actually step over you sitting on the floor to provide no service whatsoever including any concept of health and safety as people sit blocking any emergency exit. It’s best avoided especially with children, disabled persons or vulnerable people. If you consider yours or your loved ones safety or comfort, remember they provide exactly the opposite.
