Crookhaven 4+

While the map and adventure aspect are top notch, the game itself relies too much on trading (in my humble opinion) and is way lighter on actual puzzle solving. The trades are all mentioned verbally so there’s no working out who to give what to, which makes things too easy. Instead of using multiple journal entries to solve puzzles all the time you basically get told where to go for a large portion of the game. While the game is very enjoyable it’s not up to the quality of, say, Hidden World or Lost City in terms of puzzles and logic and solving things. So good but not great. Not quite worthy of 4 stars.

I absolutely loved the size of this game with so much to look at loads of different places to explore, I especially adored the layout really clever that you see different branching streets with lots of shops and houses, gives a really open world feel and creates instant excitement from the beginning. I do agree the puzzles were too easy and literally spoon fed to you so if this was slightly better the game would be perfect.

I’ve payed and played every title you have done , I have loved all of them too, apart from this one .
The screaming child ruined it straight away, got very annoying to hear it streets away too.
Not enough puzzles and the whole favour thing for the shops was ridiculous . The bit between the waitress and the cinema clerk was tedious and predictable. Running from one end of the map to the other and then back again got very boring , how about in future having a succession of maps that open once you’ve solved where you are? So no more going back to where you’ve been .
However , that’s my opinion , the graphics are always good in these games and really pretty to look at .
Another thing , when there are book clues, can there please be an option to put the clue in a new window or make it movable ?
They do this in the glitch series and it helps soooo much rather than having to take an actual photo of the screen each time .
