Choices: Stories You Play 17+

I’ve just read a review I posted a few years ago, and I have to say - while I still think there are far too many diamond options (especially in certain books!), I think the staff at Pixelberry have done an incredible job of listening to criticism made by their players. I have noticed an increase in fantastic free options, more outcomes that are not diamond locked, and better story balance when it comes to LIs. Including the diamond-ad feature makes it SO much easier to save for items you want to purchase in certain books. Also, giving you the chance to gain diamonds from replaying has made me revisit old favourites with a new vigour.

The most disappointing thing right now is the single book stories (Mother of the Year, The Royal Masquerade) as well as the cancellation of promising series (The Elementalists, Big Sky Country). I know many in the community fall in love with these intricate books that aren’t just fairytale romance lifestyle (though I love me some Royal Romance, don’t get me wrong). These interesting stories deserved more of a chance, especially with such a fan following, and the “look into the future” montage at the end of the books can feel like an abrupt way to wrap up storylines with an obvious future in mind. However - cancellations happen every day, and as disappointing as it can be, it is nice that all past books are still available to play on the app. You can always revisit!

A VIP membership program???? Is this a joke. Don’t get me wrong I love choices and think they’ve done good with their progress, but a VIP membership to play books before there release? Pointless. It’s really sucking the enjoyment out of playing the app. I’m not gonna be fooled and get it, I’d rather wait. But don’t even make us wait long for us who actually don’t have money and need entertainment during a time like this, some people are still in lockdown and need something to do.
I want to see more options too when it comes to characterisation because it’s becoming the same face from previous books, I’m playing the nanny affair with the same face as my character from blood bound, it isn’t really realistic or meaningful if that makes sense. Make more diverse options like body size? I’m dying for this change so much because it’s just the same skinny toned character, maybe add a person who has more weight on them? Have an option to add scars, or freckles, or ache for all we care but just little touch-ups can change the whole perspective. And I know I sound aggressive but I’m just ranting on things I’ve seen while playing this app for years.
And I’m also seeing a slow update on open heart book 2 I’ve waiting nearly a month now for a chapter to be added on, so if that could happen at some point that’d be great.

Firstly I’ll start by saying I really love this game. I’ve played it for around 5 years and spent so much money on it the books are great and now the diamond and keys are easier to get and book releases come more quickly.

BUT I am really really unhappy with how you portrayed the “hypochondria” story line. Just to inform you, “hypochondria” is an old, outdated and stigmatised name for HEALTH ANXIETY. As a sufferer of HEALTH ANXIETY, I was really shocked that you made the characters (doctors) take this serious and sometimes debilitating mental illness like it was a joke and someone over reacting after she ate the beets. There was no offer of support for the character who suffered from HEALTH ANXIETY. This condition affects hundred of thousands of people world wide many being treated as though they’re crazy “hypochondriacs” rather than suffering with a mental health condition called HEALTH ANXIETY. The treatment that should have been offered in this story line would be talking therapies CBT. You could have used this storyline to raise awareness of a rarely spoken about, due to stigma, mental health issue… instead, you made it seem as though the characters thought it was something to laugh at. Please get more information on medical conditions before adding them to your books. End mental health stigma!!!
