Fantastic! for serious chess players and beginners
This is the best ‘learning to play better chess’ app out there! Lots free books to play through and lots more to purchase. Easy to use the ‘movie trainer’ feature which gently teaches you what to do. Some books have videos to watch as well. Perfect for club players looking to improve but enough to keep the masters engrossed as well. If you enjoy chess and want to improve - this is the v1 of the best chess app ever!! Great to finally have this available on iPhone.

Excellent concept, but buggy app
Chessable as a concept is simply great and there are plenty of amazing courses that I've spent countless hours studying and it has helped me improve my game a lot! Movetrainer is an excellent feature and overall it's great to be able to use an app to do everything you can do on their website.
However, the app is quite buggy, it is certainly slow when using movetrainer feature and it very frequently crashes. It's also pretty slow and unresponsive when trying to learn new lines in movetrainer (or maybe it's only when the course is quite "heavy" and has got quite many lines to study).
I am still using the app and I am happy it exists, just a lot of room for improvement.

Opening explorer needs a buff!
Opening explorer isn’t available on the mobile app so you have to manually search for your opening line which can take forever.
If you do it in browser then when you click ‘search courses for position’ the courses you already own should be at the top of the results.
Then when you click ‘back’ it should remember the line you just input. What currently happens is I input a line, find no results so I want to search again from 1 move earlier but now I have to start all over again. It makes me wish I’d bought the courses elsewhere as searching a pgn is much quicker when you finish a game and want to quickly check where you went wrong.
