Description
Beginner or advanced, become a chess master, without ever being disturbed by ads.
Do you want to master the most prestigious, the classiest game ever, while having fun?
It's EASY! For starters, there are no ads to distract you. There's no account to create, and you don't even need to be connected to the Internet.
How does it work? It's really simple: you just play! The coach shows you the moves a Grandmaster would pick. Not just one move, but THE 4 BEST MOVES.
Sounds too simple? But think about it... How did you learn to speak as a child? Did you take grammar and spelling lessons? Of course not. You listened to the adults talk and then you went for it! Because that's how you learn!
Chess Tiger Pro allows you to do just that, AND IT WORKS!
In just 2 minutes, you start learning effortlessly. You'll immediately enjoy playing, and after a few games you'll notice that the right moves come naturally to you, as if they were self-evident.
Gradually, you deactivate the suggestions and play by yourself. At the end of each game, the coach shows you the good and bad moves you've made. You can better understand what happened, and you can even try out other moves to improve.
If this sounds unbelievable, you should read the user reviews for our app. Chess Tiger Pro has one of the highest satisfaction ratings on the App Store, in all countries.
What's more, it's the only chess app that analyzes your games and shows you how to improve, and it's also one of the MOST COMPLETE apps for players of all levels.

What’s New
Version 2024.12.12
- We have corrected the display of the number of moves to mate, when a forced mate in several moves is possible.
- This update includes a few other minor improvements and fixes.
Summary of 2024 improvements:
- The app has a new icon.
- We have added new visual themes: "Green felt (dark)", "Dark" and "Dark wood".
- New chess set: "Lucena".
- Dark mode is now supported throughout the app (the dark mode option is located in your device's "Settings" app, and applies to all apps).
- Magnus Carlsen's entire career, over 6000 games from January 2001 to June 2024, is now available: you can replay all his games and even examine them in detail with the help of our analysis function, and discover the secrets of this chess genius!
- You can now reset your score, your grade, and your statistics. This operation can be undone if you change your mind.
- Game collection management has been improved: you can now rename your collections and restore the collections that you had previously deleted.
- A crosshair (reticle) shows your finger's exact position for better accuracy when moving pieces. You can enable it or disable it: look for "Show crosshair" in the Settings page.
- Works perfectly on Macs with Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4...).
- "Analyze my game" has been improved: the commentary is now always in line with the suggested moves.
- The analysis of positions where checkmate is possible (direct or in several moves) has been improved.
- On Mac, the Game menu has been fixed (it was sometimes displayed horizontally on macOS Sonoma and Sequoia).
Ratings and Reviews
Where’s the PGN
This is a nice app but the game analysis is basic and I can’t find a way to get a copy of the Pgn for my games. (Could be me) I could write the moves down I suppose. There’s also something going off with the ELO values that makes it different to other apps… I reckon the app could easily cope with strong players and I reckon it could handle a 2000 player or above without any issues. The flip side of that is it can also deal with beginners and help bring on a new / beginner player so they don’t feel overwhelmed. For a one off payment it’s good app. The coaching is ok (you get what you pay for) and if you play a lot and study a lot then you could see improvements in your skill. There’s just the 1 thing I’m missing… I would like more helpful analysis (Pgn file) of the games. Am I expecting too much? It could be me (more than likely). Deep analysis of games is how you improve. When all said and done… It’s a nice functional, stable Chess app that plays Chess well.
*** UPDATE ***
I found how to get access to Pgn!
I read through the help section and went through the options (again) and found out that on some of the games I could share the game via email.
I’m improving my knowledge of chess and this app.
The app gets 5 stars ⭐️
Ok
I wrote a review about this app some considerable time ago and praised it to high heaven. Now that I’ve had more experience with it I’m not quite as positive as I was, though I have to say I still like the appearance and user interface. Moreover, the engine is easily strong enough to beat me. However, when playing Black at my lowly level I would expect to face 1 e4 or 1 d4 most of the time, with the odd smattering of other openings thrown in. But the app is fixated by 1 c4, 1 Nf3 and particularly 1 f4, all of which you get far more often than either 1 e4 and 1 d4. And if you force it to play 1 e4 or 1 d4 it often forgets that it has an opening book and plays some very strange moves. On the iPad version I have found that after a while it reaches a point where it will ONLY open with 1 Nf3, and then not long afterwards the squares disappear and the board turns entirely black. You then have to delete the app and reinstall it. In the ‘Settings’ menu there is an item that allegedly allows you to report a problem. When I tried to use this a message came up saying my iPad isn’t configured to send e-mails, which it clearly is because I use it for that every day. So it would seem the app is far from bug-free. When it’s working properly the gameplay is good and I’m generally very happy with it, apart from now being well sick of the sight of 1 f4. But trying to get it to play the two most common opening moves with proper frequency proves very wearing after a while.
Daily fun
Really enjoying this app. Id like to think I'll be good one day. I play this most days on a low difficulty with some of its coaching features turned on. I usually play with the 'suggestions' feature turned off, because that makes it too easy. But it can be interesting to turn it on just before you make your move, to see if you're thinking right. Also; the notification that pops up when you're close to check-mate (either your King or opponents) is very helpful, because most of the time I don't even realise how that happened. This means I have much to learn about the game and slowly I will disable the features to make it harder for me.
