Program needs tweaking!
Good app and generally good games to be had but yes the computer partners hold their cards close so you rarely get to see unless they suddenly clear their deck! But the MOST annoying thing is the fact the program lets people take the pile have a look then change their mind and replace to the middle and draw two new cards! Why let people cheat surely it’s easy to fix
Canasta on line
We have been playing this during Covid lockdown with 2 couples we usually play Canasta with. We all have found it a great app. Because of the auto shuffle, dealing and counting, rubbers are completed quite fast. We’ve managed 3 rubbers in an evening. Normally we couldn’t finish two. We always turn off the Turn Timer option as it auto plays your hand if you are not quick enough. You can also vary some rules.
It’s been a great substitute whilst we have to stay in our homes.
We leave a another phone switched on between our houses so we can simulate our usual social chat whilst playing.
Not bad
It has a straightforward, unfussy layout and is speedy. I should think it works well when playing with friends online. However, it’s not much fun to play against the computer because my partner holds on to cards instead of playing them. When it can, it goes out, playing many melds at one go. This means we either win or lose spectacularly but it’s left me with nothing to play for most of the game if I’m only holding a few cards. It can be a valid tactic but it’s the only way the partner plays and that feels a bit boring.
