Description
Calculator Plus is a standard and scientific calculator that has simplicity at its core, while not compromising on functionality. Even with its simple user interface inspired by the built-in Calculator app on iOS, it offers much, much more - and with no ads!
With full expression and live answer preview, be faster than ever at calculating, see exactly what you typed. Understand your answers by displaying them in exact form, scientific notation, fractions and more. Catch the exact errors with helpful syntax errors, with beautiful animations to complement your calculations. The full scientific calculator is also present in the portrait layout, so you can calculate scientific operations away one-handed on your phones, or via a space-efficient vertical window on larger screens.
That's not all! If you're on a Mac, or have a hardware keyboard connected to your iPad or iPhone, simply type your math expressions normally and it will be registered - including every scientific operation listed. Clipboard support not only allows you to copy your calculations for others to see, it also gives you the ability to instantly take any expression from anywhere and paste into the app. Plus, enjoy bonus functionality like math expression autocorrection, voice dictation, and more!
Download Calculator Plus to experience it for yourself!

What’s New
Version 2.3.1
- Fixed: A critical bug may cause tiny numbers with a magnitude lower than 1E-14 to be treated as 0 during addition and subtraction.
- Fixed: The app may crash when the answer of the calculation is exactly 2^63.
- New: The thousands separator is now also displayed for numbers in the input expression (previous versions only use them in the answer).
- New: Inputs are now instantly autocorrected and/or disambiguated as you type (previous versions only show them when pressing '='). Some rules may be configurable in Math Evaluation Overrides.
- New: Permutations (nPr) and Combinations (nCr) are now available.
- Improved: Percentage change via non-standard math notation of "a ± b%" is now enabled by default, utilizing instant autocorrect to provide visual feedback.
- Improved: The background color is now of higher contrast and lower translucency.
- New: Updated icon to match iOS 18 and iPadOS 18.
Ratings and Reviews
Best scientific calculator for iphone and watch by far.
This app is unbelievable. Firstly it is free. Secondly it has no ads. Thirdly it works fully on the Apple watch. Allowing dictation input is an amazing feature and, with some practice, works really quite well, even on the watch. I have tried many calculators and this is the only one that has full functionality on the watch. As for the handling of % - it is perfectly logical. 5% of 300 is input: 300 x 5% (=15). Whereas if you want 300 increased by 5% then input: 300x105% (=315)
Cumbersome % logic (updated after response)
If I want to add 10% to 56, I expect the answer to be 61.6, whereas this calculator simply treats 10% as 0.1 and does not relate to the number I want it to operate upon. With normal input, the result reads:
56 + 10% = 56.1
To get the 'correct' (expected) solution, it is necessary to type the following:
56 x 10% + 56 = 61.6
Most modern calculators with a '%' button will allow the intuitive
56 + 10% = 61.6
It seems I'm out of step with the complimentary reviews from others and unfortunately, this app is not for me. There are plenty more 'ad free' calculators which easily outperform this, and do so with a less clunky interface.

Having received a response from the developer, it seems necessary to expand upon the above.
I use many calculators (well over 40) including physical, hand-held devices, mostly for scientific purposes. Only two are not 'scientific', and not one of them utilises a % sign in the manner of this app - although I have seen and tested (and always refused) them. Furthermore, they are all extremely accurate and many have considerably greater precision. It would be neither fair upon the developer nor ethical to list them here.
However, I am pleased to read that the quicker, more intuitive method, which does not lose accuracy as inferred (unless very poorly programmed), may be included as a future option; in which case, I'll be happy to give this another chance.

Hello!
This is actually not a standard notation - though, the most recent release of Calculator Plus provides the ability to opt-in and specify that you want to autocorrect your expressions to the valid notation with multiplication, so "56 + 10%" is automatically corrected to "56 x 110%", to obtain your expected result.
If any users choose to activate this functionality, bear in mind that this notation is non-standard and breaks expectations in mathematics. It may also not match how other calculators evaluate percentage changes with + or - symbols, since there are no established order of operations for this. This is what is meant by potential issues in the accuracy of the calculator.
Thus, take note of these important notes if enabled:
*** Anything with +x% or -x% with a leading number or percentage will be autocorrected.
*** You can no longer add multiple percentages together like "1% + 2% + 3%"
*** 50 + 10% + 6% = (50 + 10%) + 6%, and is NOT the same as 50 + 16%.
Ad Free . Ta
It really is Ad free. Thank you. I checked & this developer does some other interesting Apps.
Note to Apple who probably won’t even see this – Just opened my high powered ultra expensive computer calculating machine called iPad, I searched for a calculator without joy. So low & behold with all it’s available power it's not even capable of doing the most simple calculations that even my 20 year old phone could do. Utter rubbish.
