This app allows BroadwayHD subscribers to watch content on iPhone and iPad. A BroadwayHD subscription or individual rental is required for full-length shows.

BroadwayHD subscriptions purchased with an in-app purchase are valid for either one month or one year. Both kinds of subscriptions automatically renew at the end of the period unless you turn off automatic renewal in iTunes or Account Settings on your device. Renewals are processed approximately 24 hours before the expiration of the subscription period. You can also choose to rent some shows individually for 48 hours. For both subscriptions and individual show rentals, payment will be charged to your iTunes account once you confirm the purchase.

Still not working
Paid subscription through ITunes App Store, yet this app still doesn’t work. Emailed Broadway HD and they still haven’t resolved the matter, even though my payment for the month has been taken. I’ve emailed them several times, and their response is slow and still hasn’t resolved the issue.
Generally good but ...
I subscribed in the UK via Apple store and mostly good experience so far
Good:
- selection of shows is a good mix of old and fairly new Broadway and West End shows (both plays and musicals)
- quality of sound and picture on the shows I’ve seen, is excellent
- fair price of £8 in uk and easy to cancel
Not so good:
- I watch on an iPad - I’d hoped to use the adaptor cable I always use to connect to the tv but BroadwayHD apparently block something here to prevent the minority of idiots who try to make illegal copies of shows. So I’m stuck with watching on small screen
- whilst there are some good shows and nice variety, there’s quite a lot of filler ... also content isn’t updated quite as often as would be helpful
- if you sign up via Apple store you don’t get a trial period for free that you do via website
One review I read must have been a joke ... someone was expecting to find current big shows that are still open (technically open only, as we’re all in lockdown) on here such as Hamilton, Les Mis and Phantom ... I can only assume that person doesn’t really understand theatre!
Needs work for iPhone X
Great app with an ever expanding selection of shows to watch. The app has come along nicely, however, it would be a very useful feature to allow iOS users to download videos to their devices. Files could still be protected within the app, but it would mean that you could watch these fantastic shows while you’re on the move as it’s not always possible to maintain an internet connection.
