BENEFITS

BreathPacer is a powerful breathing guide that can help you achieve balance in your nervous system so you feel less stressed and more connected to the world. Andrew Weil, a leader in the integrative health field states, “If I had to limit my advice on healthier living to just one tip, it would be simply to learn how to breathe correctly.”

Use BreathPacer for 10-20 minutes a day and see why therapeutic breathing has been shown in research studies to be a treatment for depression, anxiety, asthma, stress, sleep, COPD, and hypertension. Paced breathing can also improve your concentration and sports performance!

BreathPacer’s unique autonomic balance setting helps you attain optimal balance in your nervous system by maximizing heart rate variability. You can customize BreathPacer to your own breathing practices, such as those used in yoga, meditation, and Qigong. Or by using specific patterns such as box breathing, 4-7-8 breathing, or others.

Really Great App.

This has to be on of the most useful apps around if you are interested in health and looking after yourself. As a teacher of meditation who uses breathwork, I have found it very helpful to keep focused whilst working on my breathing, mostly when travelling. If I am stressed on the way to work or a meeting, I put it on and within a few minutes I am calm and centred again.
Its worth is in it giving you something to focus on whilst you breathe. Trying to keep your attention on your breath alone when you are outside, too many distractions. This keeps your mind where it needs to be, on your breathing, with the result that it calms and slows your breathing rate, and therefore does the same with your mind, nervous system and thoughts.
Two niggles however: when you set it to reduce the breathing rate over time, it starts you out breathing too fast. It needs to allow you to set the start and finish breathing rates, and possibly whilst it is running (via the volume button perhaps?). Also, it would be useful to have the option to turn on an audible tone or similar indicator to inform when you reach the end of inhalation and exhalation, so that you don't always have to watch the screen to keep pace. Otherwise, a brilliant app. which really shows the broad range of possibilities of the iPhone, and a bargain to boot. More like this please!

Excellent

I am very impressed with this app. I wanted to learn to meditate but realised that my breathing was completely wrong. This app has taught me how to breath correctly for meditation and has very much enhanced my meditation experience. It does take a little practice to learn how to breath with the sounds but after the first 30 mins it became easier and easier. Hope for an update soon although I cannot think of anything to add to it for improvement.
