BLAST & MEGABLAST 4+

Five stars for the build quality. About three for the sound quality; I think they could pull way more bass from the sub, sounds no better than the JBL Charge 3 I had.

Two stars is for the fact that overall, I’m ready to get rid of this thing, keeps dropping the Bluetooth connection and shutting down. App is ropey at best and now it’s just started refusing to turn back on. Back to JBL. Shame.

Got a Megablast a year ago. Great sound and the app was functional if a bit basic. Got a second Megablast a month ago after seeing you could now group them for stereo. Have spent what seems like most of that month trying to get the app to do just that. Despite numerous attempts I get completely inconsistent behaviour from the app, peppered with meaningless messages and often-unfollowable suggestions. Logitech phone support have been polite, well-meaning but ultimately ineffective at fixing my issues and the online documentation I’ve been able to find is silent on the subject. No update to the app in nearly a year tells you all you need to know about how much support they want to give this one, I guess.

The Blast speaker is a decent piece of kit but it’s let down by this app. I bought a new Blast and when I tried to set it up it failed on EVERY STEP using the app. Every step multiple times! So I tried again and again. Resetting the device, re-installing the app, and so on and so on. Eventually I got through each step until I ultimately got the thing working. Most people would not have the patience to do this. The setup should take a couple of minutes if it all works but it took me about 40 minutes. The app just doesn’t work well enough. Come on Logitech, you are a big company and can do better than this.
