Beginner Guitar Songs 4+

While demonstrating an A major chord, the instructor refers to the 6th string as the “top” string. He’s wrong, the “top” string is the thinnest one - which is the 1st string. The “bottom” or lowest sounding is the 6th. Hope this helps.

I've had a guitar for 25 years and after several false starts, it ended up sat in a cupboard gathering dust. Having found this app by accident yesterday whilst searching for something to make guitar noises for my 3 year old on the iPad, I've dusted my guitar off and have learned more in an hour than I have in the last 25 years! (I realise this probably says as much about me as it does about the app!!!)

The videos are well constructed and, importantly, allow you to make swift progress, which in turn motivates you to continue. However this isn't at the expense of learning important building blocks that I guess will become essential as you continue to learn. The chap presenting the videos gives intelligent instruction and great little tips along the way.

It's a bit of a cliche but this is the first review I've ever felt motivated to write which will hopefully serve as an indication that this is definitely worth a look. I'm already looking forward to the next lesson!

Contra to the other reviews, I haven't had any issues with crashing on my ipad2 or problems with downloading. In fact, I've had the easiest time using this app and am just soooooo pleased I happened to come across it.
I'm basically a complete beginner who has tried using books after having a disastrous time with a drunk guitar teacher but I wasn't getting anywhere fast and was losing motivation. After just a few minutes watching these videos, I see small but significant areas where I was going wrong and now am more motivated than ever to learn to play properly.
The guy teaching on the vids is just great. Really likeable and takes things at a really easy to understand pace.

So, all in all, I really can't recommend this app enough. It's perfect for the beginner and from my experience, hasn't got any glitches in the design of the app itself. It's already becoming one of my favourite and most used apps!!! :-)
