Why use the Barclaycard for Business app?
The Barclaycard for Business app is here to help make it easier for Barclaycard Payments cardholders to manage their card. The app has a range of features to help cardholders stay in control of their spending, with 24/7 access to their card information through their mobile.
Important information before you get started
• This app is specifically for Barclaycard Payments cardholders, to track spend and manage their card. The balance shown will be your individual cardholder balance only, and does not include the following company information: Company balance, available credit, or payment details including minimum payment due. Company balance information and account related tasks are not available at this time
• We must hold a current mobile number and email address for you
• The app is only available to cardholders who have received a username and temporary password via email

What can I do on the app?
It’s free to download and with it you’ll be able to:
• View your PIN, instantly
• View your individual card account balance and credit limit
• Look back at previous transactions
• Freeze and unfreeze your card
• Authenticate your online payments
• Request a replacement card
• Block your card if it has been lost or stolen
How does registration work?
• It’s specifically for Barclaycard Payments cardholders (not including Company Admins at the time)
• The app is only available to cardholders who’ve received their username and temporary password from us via email
• We must hold your current email address and mobile phone number. You can validate those details by either checking online, or calling the number on the back of your card

• If you have the authority to view company or other cardholder balance information you can access your online account via our website

This continues to be crucially uninformative as does their web page .
You would expect to get essential information from both the app and website , you don’t. The information is too slow to update on the credit side m to be clear if I make an interim payment to reduce the account during the month it never shows . I get an email telling my statement is ready to view but actually it’s only partially ready to view the whole statement is not , I appreciate that is related to the corporate side where there is one control account , so one would expect to be able to go immediately online and view the control account to give the full monthly statement, but no it’s not there until later , there is lag with mostly everything , it’s very annoying and surprising for a bank of Barclays size . Useless ladies and gentleman, sort it out .
Back again , 4th March , still no sign of Feb statement , doesn’t matter what is said nothing improves .

Completely useless
Completely useless app. Shows the balance of what you’ve spent in the current month rather than the actual card balance and shows an amount available to spend which again is incorrect as it’s using the spend this month deducted from the credit limit rather than the current balance deducted from the credit limit so it looks like you have thousands available to spend when in fact you’re at your limit. As all of the developer responses say, the only way to see your true balance is to log into the website which obviously makes this app useless and redundant!
Maybe the developer should take notice of all of the bad reviews asking for a real balance and do something about it instead of telling everyone to use the website! If you can show the correct amounts on the website, why not show the correct amounts on the app too so that it’s actually worthwhile using?

Password management despicable
You can’t copy and paste, so the temporary password has to be laboriously read and typed in. No visibility toggle, so you can’t see what you’ve typed. And then they’re enforcing 16 character limit with special characters etc. So around 10 years out of step with modern infosec practices. It’s 2022, people. I don’t want to - and shouldn’t have to - know any passwords. That’s what my keychain password manager is for. And, yes, I’m an NCSC-accredited infosec professional, training 1 million+ learners around the UK in this stuff.
*Edit - update after response from Barclays* Evidence, if it were even needed, of Barclays contempt towards their customers - a bland piece of beige PR, asking me to call a phone number, so they can then keep me on hold to add to my disappointment. You can’t make this stuff up - but thanks to Barclays, you don’t need to.
