Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 12+

Would be fantastic, if only a controller would work

My favourite game on the original Xbox many years ago, and this is a perfect port - flawless. Runs wonderfully on both my 27" iMac and 15" MacBook Pro.

Unfortunately, and this is a BIG dealbreaker, it doesn't want to work with my Xbox One wireless controller.

Sometimes you can navigate the menus in-game with the stick or D-pad, and use maybe the 'A' or 'B' button to 'Select' or go 'Back', but this only works once (and I mean literally one press) before the controller is no longer recognised.

My controller works fine, bluetooth connected, buttons, sticks and triggers all work in the Mac Preferences and Game Controller App. Works fine with every other game I use it on. It just doesn't work with this game and I'm pulling my hair out trying to understand why.

You can’t use a USB controller either due to MacOS discontinuing USB controller support (after El Capitan I think?)

This game was designed for consoles and, as such, is incredibly difficult to play with mouse and keyboard. In fact, I don't even bother to play it.

Such a shame really, but it's clearly an issue with this version/port of the game.

This bears no resemblance to Baldur's Gate

It is a disgrace to see this on the Apple Store. Clearly just a scam and Apple should be ashamed of themslves for having this on sale.

amazing refresh.. however

amazing refresh of an amazing game, runs fantasticly on my 2020 m1 macbook air untill i get to the first sewer level door where a cutscrene promptly crashes the game, please fix this issue

Sorry for your troubles on M1 Macs. These issues should be resolved in version 1.0.2.1 when it releases.
