BATTERY USE
Arc is only awake and using GPS when you are active and moving. For the rest of the day Arc stays in a low power sleep mode, with GPS turned off, to conserve battery.
On a typical day of two to three hours of travel a single full battery charge should last from morning to evening without requiring extra recharging during the day. However longer trips (for example a long hike or cross country drive) may consume more than expected battery, due to Arc needing to be awake and recording, with GPS activated, for the duration of the trip.
For longer trips, I recommend plugging your phone into a car charger or battery pack, to avoid unpleasant battery surprises.

What’s New
Version 3.17.0
## New timeline confirmation flow
- The "needs confirm" flow has been redesigned and rebuilt, and now includes both "uncertain" items and "unconfirmed" items
- Uncertain items are the same before - items where the app isn't sure about its choice
- Unconfirmed items are all the rest - items that the app feels confident about, but that you haven't confirmed
- A new "Confirm All" button allows for quick confirmation of these, locking in the of these, locking in the timeline's state as it appears at that time
## Other bits
- Added rowing to the activity types that can be saved to Apple Workouts
- Photos from shared libraries are now filtered out
- Many bug fixes, performance improvements, and minor tweaks. It's been a while since the last update so there's been an accumulation of cleanups and fixes since then!
Ratings and Reviews
App not working
Since I downloaded the current update about 8 weeks ago the app has to be constantly edited on average 30 times a day. I have used this app every day since 2018 and it tracked my activity very acutely not needing to edit much at all,I have also lost half of my tracking history. Prior to this lastest update the app worked perfectly. I have downloaded the current iso 14.2 as advised by developer but has made no difference, Emailed developer directly within the app four weeks ago but have had no reply.
This was an excellent app before this update far better than the original moves which I used before it was discontinued.
I am very disappointed and will be cancelling my subscription if it is not working correctly soon. Developer please fix.
Didn’t like app. Developer so rude.
I found this app very poor (everyone is entitled to their opinion) - check the recent reviews. He didn’t like constructive criticism and THIS IS WHAT HE SENT ME: “ Your previous reviews were shouty nonsense, made up of mixtures of completely false claims, extreme hyperbole in all-caps, and abusive and insulting language. You got in response what you deserved - this isn't a consequences-free world. If you want to be treated respectfully, act respectfully. If you're going to act like a petulant child, spraying spittle and shouting while bemused onlookers cautiously back away, expect to be treated like the badly behaved person that you are. I do wonder why though, if my app is so "rubbish", you keep coming back month after month to post new reviews. Either you're still using the app, in which case it clearly isn't the "absolute rubbish" you claim it is, or you can't let this whole thing go, and are replying to get the last word in, pathologically unable to move on. Please don't tell me which it is - I lost patience with you the first time your spittle hit my face. Just delete my app, and get lost” - WHAT A LITTLE RAY OF SUNSHINE HE IS EH.

Hi again Andy!
Your previous reviews were shouty nonsense, made up of mixtures of completely false claims, extreme hyperbole in all-caps, and abusive and insulting language.
Just delete my app, and get lost.
Brilliant!
Arc has always been the best tracker but since v.3 it’s brilliant! It does exactly what I want - precise tracking with a choice of mapping, an excellent timeline with photos located along the way. And a very responsive developer! Update@7.4.20 - Arc continues to deliver! I’m lucky enough to be able to do a daily walk during lockdown and Arc enables me to track all the network of local footpaths. I’ve found that closing and re-opening the app before going out seems to “help” Arc to adjust to lockdown changes of routine. Keep fine-tuning!
Developer Response ,
Thanks heaps for your review and kind words! 😄🙏🏼
For lockdown, yeah, a lot of Arc users are experiencing problems at the moment due to our phones not yet knowing how to adjust to our massively changed daily routines. Both iOS and Arc contain learning engines that learn our habits and routines. Arc will be relearning and adjusting during this time, but given the major disruption to our routines, it's going to take a while for it to settle down. And likewise iOS itself will also presumably be relearning our routines and habits, and making its own adjustments. So it's a confusing time for our phones!
Thanks again 😄
Matt
