This is the official iPhone and iPad application of aprs.fi, the favourite APRS navigation site of the amateur radio world. Please read this application description fully before purchasing – some features require an additional in-app purchase.

Some new features require a subscription. All old and some new features will be available without a subscription fee. These features are currently included in the Extra Features subscription package:

• High-performance software DSP modem
• APRS-IS beaconing, with up to 10 callsign profiles
• RX iGate functionality
• Long time ranges in map and graph views
Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
GPS is not required for viewing APRS information.

Have been using this app for a few years now and as i have several aprs apps on the phone i can say that this is always the first if not only one i open. others perform different functions. this app lets you see historical snapshot of the last few hours which i think is a lot better that the others that when you open them just let you see the current incoming aprs positions. for example if i go out into countryside and have no phone or wifi signal and i want to know retrospectively if my rf beacons have been received then this is the only app that enable this. beaconing from the app itself is very simple and unlike the other aprs apps doesnt crash the phone or make it laggey. very smooth to operating and very good menu features also.

Just wondered why this sends my call out ie ABC1-i with a distance of 3514 miles… when I never asked it to??
