Overall reasonable app and good customer service. I booked a ride in a rush and added a wrong pick-up point, I only realized it when my driver reached the location. I instantly contacted the driver and customer service; they were so cooperative and changed my pickup point in the system immediately. An experience like this made me a regular customer of 247 Cars. Thanks, you are doing a fantastic job!

The app itself works great, makes it easy set a pick up and drop off location, as well as pay by card and even set a booking time. And tracking your taxi once you’ve got a driver is top notch. The two stars are honestly just for how good the app is.

The problem is what happens after you’ve made your booking, I have used this app ten times or so since beginning my new job and only once have I been able to book a taxi, and have it show up within a decent amount of time. Every other time I have found myself waiting from 30 minutes to an hour for a taxi, only to have my booking picked up by a driver and immediately dropped then have to sit and wait again for another driver to pick up the job. You can phone up and ask for an update but don’t expect an answer other than “we have no drivers, five more minutes mate”. And I wouldn’t even try booking in advance... as your driver either turns up way before the time you set then leaves and drops your booking or they don’t turn up at all.

2nd time I’ve used the app. First time they charged the journey to my debit card which was great! 2nd time tonight and I assumed they would charge my card, as it’s what I set the app up with. I got out and started walking to my house, and the driver beeps his horn saying “this was a cash journey “. I had to get him to drive to a cash point as I prefer not to carry cash. I then walked home from the cash point. Also annoyed with the amount of texts they send....only took a few minutes for the car to arrive, but I got 8 texts and about 4 app notifications in that time! Ridiculous! Who wants that many messages when you’re saying goodbye to your friends!? Too many messages!
