HENRY SHUKMAN teaches mindfulness and awakening practices to a wide range of students from all traditions and walks of life. Henry is an authorized Zen Master in the Sanbo Zen lineage, and is the Spiritual Director of Mountain Cloud Zen Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. His struggles and traumatic experiences as a youth, combined with a spontaneous awakening experience at 19, paved the way for Henry to develop a well-rounded approach to meditation.

Through these guided meditations you will explore with Zen Master Henry Shukman: teaching from ancient Buddhist traditions, finding peace and unconditional wellbeing in the heart of our lives, learning how to sit with and process negative emotions, healing from past traumas, uncovering deep joy in the bare fact of being alive, discovering a deep and connected presence, understanding insights into non-duality and awakening to the true nature of reality. All grounded in modern mindfulness and ancient Zen wisdom.

Exactly what I’ve been looking for

I’m relatively new to meditation, meaning I’ve tried several times to develop a practice but haven’t found a place, course or app that really helped me. I’ve used the Waking Up app for a while and while it’s full of super interesting talks and meditations, I needed help to “get on the path” and develop a regular practice. I discovered this app by listening to one of the talks on the Waking Up app, and immediately felt The Way was exactly what I had been looking for. I’m very grateful for your efforts in creating this, and will recommend it to people around me.

The best meditation app

I have been trying to develop a meditation habit for a while and every single one I used did not actually help. It felt that they were too advanced and I was way behind. The result was that my stress levels were not helped at all even while meditating. This is the first app that actually noticeably makes a difference to my stress levels in real time and after and is teaching me to go from complete and utter novice to a more relaxed, aware and mindful person.

Switch from Waking Up to The Way

As much as I love the waking up app it is now way too complicated and not enough beginner friendly once the introduction course is done.

The way app make it as easy as possible which not time spend on which course or teacher to follow.

The app is very clean pretty, well done !
