Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani's film Kabir Singh has turned out to be the biggest surprise of this year. While the remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy was touted to do well, it has surpassed all the expectations by storming the box office since day 1. The romantic drama is now in its third week and its still minting big money at the ticket windows. On Tuesday, the film remained rock steady at the box office despite India's big semi-final match against New Zealand in the ongoing cricket world cup. With that figure, Kabir Singh has now beaten Ranveer Singh's Simmba in the box office race. And today, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial venture will surpass the lifetime collection of Vicky Kaushal's Uri - The Surgical Strike as well which stands at Rs 245.36 crore as per BollywoodHungama.

This means Shahid and Kiara's first film together is set to become the highest grossing film of the year. Revealing the updated figures, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, "#KabirSingh remained steady on [third] Tue, despite #INDvNZ cricket match [#CWC19]... Will cross *lifetime biz* of #Uri today [Wed] and emerge highest grossing #Hindi film of 2019... Fri 5.40 cr, Sat 7.51 cr, Sun 9.61 cr, Mon 4.25 cr, Tue 3.20 cr. Total: ₹ 243.17 cr. India biz."

He also tweeted, "While #KabirSingh is all set to surpass the *lifetime biz* of #Uri today [Wed], let’s have a look at the *10 highest grossing films* in #Hindi... #KabirSingh holds the No 10 rank, while #Uri moves to the 11th position... Since Hrithik Roshan's much-awaited film Super 30 is finally arriving in theatres this Friday, the competition will definitely  heat up at the box office. But going by the current trend, it seems Shahid starrer Kabir Singh will continue its good hold at the Indian box office.
