So, Cherry, do you believe that you exchanging ideas with the OP will to change in him? Or perhaps lead to change in others who might read your exchange of ideas with the OP? Didn't you write the following in a comment to post #37, "Ok well we aren’t going to change each other’s minds. " ? That seems to reflect the conclusion that you exchanging ideas with the OP is fruitless! Hence my post. (Though, I was writing my post when you posted the comment to which I am referring.)

My broader point is that the composition of the participants in an exchange of ideas matters and matters a great deal.

Now see, there's the problem. If the government is moving them around the country they are ILLEGAL migrants. If they had followed the rules and come here LEGALLY they wouldn't be shipped all over the country to sleep under bridges and suck up resources that should go to American citizens.

Enabling Loser's is not a solution! I'm all for a WPA ressurection to put those without jobs to work on public projects, even if they are messed up on dope! But they got to work for it, not sit around and smoke Coricidan !

My dad was born at the end of the Depression in 39 right before WW2, You ate what was put in front of you or you went without, Dad used to step in fresh cowpies to keep his feet warm, got caught stealing apples as a kid. His mom , my grandmother I never knew died when he was 7. Kids nowdays have it too easy, their grandkids will not have it easy at all.

 

My grand parents were a big influence in my life they grew up during the Great Depression. The stories I hey would tell , made me appreciate everything the did . And everything I had I’d give anything to have my children know them

 

So I take it everyones answer is no , you don’t want them in you Neighborhood . And you won’t give them your hard earned Money .

I think the best example I can apply to this is when I drive by my local Walmart. There is always someone (if not multiple people) begging near the sign. I’ve paid close attention to them and quickly began to realize that they work in a system of shifts. How do I know they aren’t homeless you ask? The clothing that they wear is far too clean and I’ve even seen some of them get into cars before. I feel bad for actual filthy looking homeless people (including veterans) but these people? They can rot for taking advantage of innocent people. A job application would fix their dilemma but they don’t want to change, they’d rather continue being a dirtbag for a living. While it can be difficult to discern the difference at times, choose wisely who you give food or money to as you could fall victim to a racket of con artists. There are situations where people fall on hard times and can’t help it and I feel for them but I’ve found that most of the time, homelessness = laziness. Change can only occur from within so if they don’t want to, they won’t.

 

The democrats want anyone to be let into this country. While back they found that over six million people wanted to come to the U.S., six million all at one time, and that did not count anyone south of the border. So where were they going to live? Not in the Dems. mansions and who was going to pay for their needs, not them.

 

We shouldn’t be blaming or showing hatred towards the illegal immigrants that have been flooding our boarders and entering our country. We should be blaming our current administrators for allowing this to happen. Our boarders are open so who in their right mind wouldn’t take advantage of that?

Our country is made up of immigrants. The only difference is back when my grandparents entered this country they had requirements to meet. They had to have a sponsor, they were required to show proof that they had a place to live ( their sponsor ) and employment. They entered our country the right way, by the rules our country required for immigrants to enter our country.

Immigrants built our country. Our roads, our buildings and they introduced us to a whole new world of food and culture. They came to our country for a better way of life. Knowing that America is the land of opportunity.

They bleed just like you and me. It’s not them to blame it’s the ones who are making it happen that we should blame
