At AVMS, we are dedicated to providing an exceptional education that nurtures the minds and hearts of our students. Our school, founded in 1995, has a rich history of academic excellence and a commitment to shaping responsible and innovative global citizens.

AVMS is the brain child of Rev. Fr. Gnanapragasam. From 1995 to 2023, from nearly two rooms at a remote corner for a vast 5 acre campus in the heart of the city, from a drop of 30 students to an ocean of 2380, from a faint whisper to a thunderous roar AVMS has come a long way.

Rev. Fr. A. Xavier Raj constructed the first school building and named it “Annai Velankanni English School” on 02.09.1999, and began to admit students up to 5th Std.

Rev. Fr. A. Louis, the next Correspondent, realising the local needs of the people raised the school up to 10th Std with the consent of his grace Most Rev. Dr. Peter Fernando D. D. then the manager of R. C. Schools.

Msgr. J. Jeyaraj, who elevated AVMS up to 12th Std and fulfilled the necessary requirements of the infrastructure building The Vianny Block on 26th February, 2010.

The former correspondent Rev. Fr. Xavier who is very much concerned about the education of the poor children established and furnished the school with various developments like separate room for Physical Education, School Van Shed, the new Silver Jubilee auditorium, trained faculties for spoken English, and encouraging the students for sports and interschool cultural activities.

Rev. Fr. Rex Peter the former principal who rendered his selfless service for ten years has brought tremendous growth both quantitatively and qualitatively. The students, the teachers and the workers gratefully acknowledge his tenure as ‘Golden Period’. He brought national and international awards both in sports and academy. Following the vision of the predecessors the glorious parade is on the march with 1750 students, 60 teaching staff and 25 non teaching staff.

Archbishop Most. Rev. Dr. Antony Pappusamy, a holy man and a visionary, assumed responsibility as the new manager on 24th August 2014. With his blessings and support the school is taking wings to crest new heights.
