The tax-exempt digitization application [SmartDetax] reads passports accurately and instantly with a smartphone or tablet camera using unique AI technology, generates tax-exempt sales data (passport data + sales statement data) electronically, and sends it to the NTA（Japanese National Tax Agency) server immediately.

With using SmartDetax App, duty-free shops can fully support the tax-exempt computerization system with only your iOS device.
Expensive dedicated passport reader equipment and PC, customizing the POS register are quite unnecessary for your duty-free retailing business.

From 1st. of April 2020, the Consumption Tax Law of Japan will be revised, and duty-free shops nationwide will be required to send duty-free sales data electronically to the NTA server.

* This new SmartDetax is a dedicated application that supports the tax exemption electronic system. Conventional SmartDetax is a dedicated application for printing tax-exempt documents, and its functions are different. New SmartDetax is available from 1/4/2020, and conventional SmartDetax will be finished in parallel.
