The history of the translation of the holy Bible in Russian started in the 19th century. The Russian Synodal Bible became the go-to translation for Russian-speaking Christians. It was the first standardised version of the Bible. It was widely used in churches and homes, and it became the main Bible for generations of Russian Christians.
As years passed by, people wanted something that was easy to read and understandable. Later a modern version of the Russian Bible was translated, which used modern and conversational Russian. These versions helped more people to become involved in Bible reading.
The Russian Bible was not easily translated; it had its own set of difficulties in translating in Russian. But today, the Russian Bible has many translations from modern to Biblical text, everything accessible to all different types of users. The Bible gave a connection and comfort to all Russian people.
